I apologize in advance if this type of thread already exists. If it is, please direct me to it and delete this one. If it doesn't then please walk me, as well as other people who are new to jail-servers, through what jail server is all about. What do commands like LR, ST, and Warden, mean.

I would like this to be a bit more organized (for instance)

LR - Last Request (This happens when there is only 1 T remaining alive, that T get's a chance to request w/e he/she likes, example - shot-for-shot, knives, games, etc)

ST -

Warden -

Whatever else people might not know, that pertains specifically to jail servers.

PS. I played a couple of times on jail server last night and I noticed that some people do not know what those commands means, and how to go about them. I also noticed that people leave the server because they get killed for not obeying the commands. (Honestly, at first I was also surprised at why am I getting killed for trying to kill a CT, the usual objective of regular maps)

I think this guide will be a big help, if for no one else, then for me =)

Thank you,
Sincerely,

Baby don't hurt me...

you play jail?
All I will ever remember you from is Office, way back when,
Before either of us had admin, before Quix took his break, before electricity.

Oh wait that last one doesn't sound right.

But yeah, now I play jail a lot.
I used to not find anything good of it, now im stuck there

There should totally be a !jail command in-game that shows that webpage. There are alot of pubs and even ego members who come to play jail and dont have the slightest idea what to do. You cannot expect them to go to the forum, search (and probably fail) for the thread so you know how to play.

Heres a tip, follow orders until you are told to move, then as soon as you see the slightest opportunity to rebel, DO IT.

If you are in a vent cell, then go through it, take the gun and hide. Do this fast otherwise you will have 5 noob CT campers waiting outside the vent for you. ;)

Heya Neogamer, I'll go ahead and take the time to explain to you, instead of linking you to a big rulebook and providing no useful posts.

LR - Last request. The final Prisoner is entitled to the last request, as long as the following criteria is met. a) Prisoner is not wanted and b) There's more than one Guard at the time of LR. Last requests must be fair and must give the Guards a chance to win, or it becomes optional.

Optional games are games where Guards are not required to participate, but may participate if they choose to do so. Games like sharks n minnows, octotag, and spin the deagle are all optional games while games like CT Climb Hot Lava, CT body toss, CT gun toss are not.

ST - Special treatment. Specified Prisoner(s) are exempt from all orders given by the Warden, unless specifically spoken to. Prisoner may go about doing whatever he or she likes while paying attention to the ST conditions, if any exist.

ie; Some wardens may give you ST, but you must be crouched during the whole ST, etc.

Warden - The Guard in charge, the top dog. He or she issues orders and commands his/her Guard staff. While any Guard may give orders to preserve Guard life, you should notice the difference between a Warden and a regular Guard. Most Prisoners like to take out the Warden first, probably for the laughs. Sometimes, you'll get Wardens extremely relaxed, and other times you'll get wardens really uptight and strict.

If there's any other questions you have with Jail, or you'd like to explore the maps on a 1 on 1 basis without being shot, just throw me a PM. I can set up the maps on my server or you can just play while I'm the Warden. Hope to see you in Jail sometime soon. :)

Just to give Ric an update on a finer point, you can still have an LR if there is one CT left, but he may kill you at will sorta up to the CT's discretion.

Going on the finest print,

When things don't go as planned, section 3:
Last Guard Kills All
If you find yourself as the last guard alive, you must hunt down and try to eliminate all remaining prisoners. There are many players waiting in spectator, try to bring as many prisoners with you to an early demise as you can.

So, no, technically, every time a CT prolongs the round and offers the last T a LR while being the last CT, it violates the rules.
