Spiral knights!

Well I faced the royal jelly and lost badly. Didn't have any poison or fire gear to fight him... oh well
 
It's a pretty decent f2p game. I don't play it a lot, just a quick session here n there at night. Having trouble getting certain mats, like swordstone/iron gear/monster bones, to craft 2-star gear. Haven't found them in-game yet.

ya you really gotta have the gear for king jelly. i have a vile striker and when i did him i was with others that had great gear for him as well.

those mats, swordstone iron gear are pretty rare in t1 but are fairly common in t2, still not the most ideal mat you want to farm for. there are other equipment sets that don't use rare mats like that which i can craft for you, for like 3k crown per 2* piece.

basically the recipes you can buy in haven are not very good to start out with because they are tougher on the mats side of things. its best to go through t1 as many times as you can and keep getting energy (apparently its much cheaper on weekends) and find recipes of things that don't take hard mats to get, then get your 2* stuff just to get into tier2. from there you can farm tier2 and eventually make whatever you actually want
 
Junk where did you go last night!? I was waiting for you for a couple of hours. I ended up getting all the mats for the striker and I was hoping you could make it for me. Are you going to be on tonight?
 
last night? i left to get somethin to eat, then i forget what i did, but when i tried to log back in the server was down.
i will be on today tho so ya i can make you stuff
 
finally got the Calibur crafted, though I prolly overpaid a bit - 2k for the 2 Swordstone. I'll just keep telling myself it's all in the name of progress!

Had a quick lunch break session and was surprised to loot a monster bone! One more and I can craft me a wolver cap. :D

Oh Junk, something I haven't quite grasped yet. How does one purchase energy?
 
you can purchase energy by clicking on the energy thing at the bottom right of your screen, and either go to trade or purchase. you can buy it for a generalized price or try to bargin

and monster bones are very very common for me, so i can give you some. i also have to add you as a friend and get you in the guild =D
 
Finally crafted a Jelly Shield....finding the armor recipe is becoming quite a pain. >.>

almost tempted tah just craft 2* stuff just tah gain access to the next stage.

I'd suggest to get to T2 asap, get me or junk to craft you some 2* gear. The mats in T2 can sell quiet well. Worry about recipes afterwards imo. Also off money drops alone (assuming solo T1) I can make about 3k per 60 energy (no deaths) so dont be affraid to buy energy for crowns (just try and get it when its <3.3k).

I can Craft
-Spiral Demo set (2* good for bombers)
-Spiral Plate Helm/Armor (2* high normal defense / no elemental / lower attack speed)
-Owlite Shield (2* ok resists elemental and normal D)
-Freeze Vaporizer / mkII (2*/3* bomb)
-Firey Vaporizer (2* bomb)

Junk has a larger vareity, so unless you are an aspiring bomber as I am, junk probably has better recipes to go off.

If you craft a bomb, does that mean you throw it with infinite ammo? Like shooting a gun? I hope that's the case because I want to be all ranged combat. >.<

Yes bombs are infinite use, but you place it on the ground and run away (no self Friendly fire). What I do is if there are too many enemies to get in close, I drop a bomb and kite them into it. Since I use freeze bombs, this will usually freeze them in place allowing me more room to navigate and target healers. Also good source of AoE
 
ya it doesn't matter what gear you use right now, just get to T2 ASAP and you'll find better recipes in its shop allowing you to get what you want. at first you'll need to party your way through T2 because the lower lvls can be tough (bottom half after shop) but eventually when you get the gear you want and get used to its levels you can solo all the way through, granting you lots of good drops and great money

Yeah that's what i ended up doing. Just crafted cobalt armor and a wolver cap and got my arse to T2.

I'm gellin w/ my jelly shield tho. ^^ These bombs are very much piquing my interest.

ya if anybody needs any help in a gate or something just msg me. keep in mind you can see what levels are in each gate before you enter it, so you can see what gate has the least fire levels (worst levels EVAR) and it will be much easier for you

also while you're in the gate you can see what level is coming up next by clicking the gear in the top left corner and then go to gate map. it will show the route you are taking, and if the elevator is currently set to a map you don't want to go to just wait about 5 minutes and it will change
i like to avoid fire arenas that way

edit: i found cautery sword recipe!! i will craft cautery swords for those who want to help me do jelly king runs. maybe we can do some guild king jelly runs together =D

oh i just saw this...some patch notes

Aside from the optimization work that was performed tonight, a small update was released that included the following:

Items
* Fixed a bug giving the Umbra Driver's regular shots a knockdown effect.
* Fixed the Critter Carapace's rarity: it is now 2* instead of 3*.

Monsters
* Rocket Puppy Rockets have had an adjustment to their behaviors. Tier 2 should be far more forgiving.
* Royal Jelly's regen has been reduced.
* Royal Jelly now has fewer minions.
* Status-themed Retrodes are now properly immune to their associated status conditions.

this is why critter carapace prices have gone down a lot. and king jellys regen has gone down a bunch!!! great news for us, so king jelly will be a lot easier (he used to regen super quick), lets get out there and do some KJ runs!
