I found this funny.

You realize that's from 2007, right? 3 years before the Mann co. Store.

Yes... It may be slightly out-dated. Funny though. made me laugh inside.

The thing is, the Mann Co. Store isn't much like DLC.

In DLC, that content can only be accessed if you purchase it, which is, again, the only way to acquire it, unless you buy a Game Of The Year version of a game.

In the Mann Co. Store, they give you the option to buy items that you can CRAFT AND FIND AS A DROP in game. So, that content is already in the game, its just your decision if you want to spend money on something that just requires time to get.

Yeah, one might argue that we haven't had to pay anything extra to continue to play TF2, nor has it been required of us to purchase any of the items in the Mann Co. store to have an advantage over the next guy.

Also, one might laugh at the quote from Valve about not "nickle-and-diming" their customers to death.

Except keys, noisemakers,& preorder hats can't be found via the drop system. But we can trade them so that helps.
I also remember Valve saying that they were going to update the xbox 360 version around that time & now they say they aren't going to. They also said they wouldn't ever make a game for the PS3........I guess Valve just likes to change their mind.

I agree. Charging money for maps and skins is WAY different than charging for in game items that can easily be acquired by just playing the game. This is also coming 3 years after the games release, if Mann Co store is what it takes to keep free updates coming i'm 100% ok with it.

Something else to consider: the drop system.

You get free stuff randomly, which you can then trade or craft or whatever.

Yes, you get a metric ton of crates in the process; that all comes down to luck of the draw.
