Wouldnt mind my K/D ratio being gone as well, been chasing after 1.0 for a while, tough when my first name got .6. Haha.

ATTENTION:

Let me remind everyone here that you should keep your comments civil. There is no reason to be at each other's throats. Some of you might be unhappy with the reset option and free discussion is always welcome-- as long as our conversations don't degenerate into child-like bickering.

If you want to argue with someone you can argue with me after the gloves come off... capiche?

camping a play style I doubt a point reset will change anyones tendency to camp....Also will certain pubbers rage-quit eGO servers because of the reset "I spent a long time getting to where I am"

Idk food for thought? I'd enjoy a reset tbh :D

I doubt we will lose any pubbers, and I am not sure we will gain any by a reset. I do think that having a regular reset will get people to be more competitive if there are small prizes. Maybe something to strive for. I would suggest the prizes be based not only around points, but maybe also KPM for some K:D, for another, or a combination of the two.

Maybe points with a caveat that the K:D and the KPM must be at a certain level. We do not want to encourage people to farm points for the sake of farming points again. That will lead to the same issue with people abusing the rules to stat pad. And even worse it would lead to people being concerned with their score and their points rather than helping their team win.

Now I agree that sitting back and farming points and not helping your team is a valid (if in my opinion very silly/selfish) way to play the game. It is still a valid way to play the game, as long as members/pubs are not crossing the line, as has been done by many a player and not just once or twice. While this method is a valid way of playing (there is really not a way that isn't valid if no one is being abusive or cheating), it not only upsets many pubs but it upsets members as well. This could loosely be construed as "Server Disruption" but would be a great stretch and could set a dangerous prescient.

In contrast to that, convincing people that helping their team win over padding their own stats could have a desired effect while not over stepping and removing a "annoying or disruptive" player/member.

A full stat reset is a good idea. It gives players a fresh start and I truly doubt that we will lose players as was mentioned above to a reset. If we lose someone because they lost their points, then I for one will not be sad as I disagree with their reasons for playing on eGO servers.

To the point, as I have mentioned before and CWhit has pointed out, a regular reset with prizes may get people interested. Those at the top of the points (if earned legitly) should not be concerned as they can get right back up their with their specific play style if that is what they wish. If we throw in the modifiers to the point system for determining who wins the prizes I believe we can achieve a more competitive play style on our servers. Four to six month resets with prizes for top point holders...as long as their K:D>2 and their KPM>1 or something to that effect. Then you will not only get players with a higher skill level, but players who are actively helping their team achieve victory.

+1 Well said Sumac

So of the 16 people who have currently voted no I've only read two from people saying they don't want a reset. I would like to know why the other 14 of you voted no.

I believe Spray left it open-ended so it could be discussed. The specifics of what exactly will be reset has not been finalized yet. No final decision has been made, we are just seeing what the community wants at this point.

We will let you guys know once we have made a decision on that matter. For now, assume that everything is on the table for a reset. This might change down the road depending on where this thread goes, technical aspects and restrictions on the stats program, etc.

I voted yes but all in all i would love it if there were no points at all but that may kill the servers. Most games should be played for fun, leave the points and that for scrims.

-Leadership is considering the advantages of resetting the points system
-No
-No
-No, that statement is false.
-Leadership is asking the community for feedback.

Blue I was just asking a multi question & not make any statements.

I now after seeing several posts from players from the top to the bottom of the rank list post saying yes that I want to change my answer to yes reset the stats.

Ok and I got a question with Kalt it seems to fill every other night now and it only fills at night. So therefore I was going to make a suggestion of we should have a time where we fill Kalt every single night same with flash :/ I hate seeing dead servers. It looks way better seeing everything filled and that rarely happens but I think we can make it happen

The sad truth is DoD is starting to lack in numbers, the game is getting old and less and less people are playing. It's very difficult to have all of the servers filled simultaneously because of the amount of people that are playing. Generally, a pub won't go in a fill a random server that's empty, they'll just look around and find one that's already filled. In order to get servers like Flash going we usually have to organize a bunch of people to go out and make an effort to fill it at a certain time. This can obviously be somewhat difficult on such a short notice. Sometimes there just isn't enough of us on at the same time sustain a full server for a long period of time.

That's not to say we can't get the servers filled and boosted up in rank, it's just more difficult when the server is generally empty to begin with. Of course various time zones and busy schedules contribute to the lack of people in a server. We need to work on organizing certain times to go out and fill the server when they need it most. Deadsight, I suggest joining the flash crew steam group. When you see Flash empty, just hop in there and message a few friends and get them to join in. Usually once the server gets past 6-10 people, it fills itself from there. It seems the problem is just sustaining the server for longer periods of time like we can do with Donner and Avalanche.

Just my two cents on the subject. ;)

Seems like every topic on these forums always goes back to filling the servers...

I would like to see that stats reset so we can get back into a good fight for points against fellow members and public players. Nothing is more boring then going in a server and know that you can gain maybe 6-8 per kill and loose 25 per death
