Your Desktop Specs for BF3

Thanks for the replys guys, while reading everything I realise BF3 really needs a good pc, and that both my laptop, and desktop, are out dated:P

My load times were ridiculous before I updated my system. Loading a map was just painful.
Before:
Q6600
4gigs RAM
10k RPM drive
460GTX

Now:
i5 2500k
16gigs RAM
SSD drive
still the 460GTX

I'd imagine each upgrade had something to do with the improved load times. Smooth as butter now. Running on High specs. I don't think I've tried ultra, but high looks great as is. I can check my fps at some point but haven't bothered as I'm not experiencing any problems, and this way I can occasionally blame the number of deaths I keep having on fps if need be :P

Everything I have runs at stock speeds. The 460gtx is the plain variety, not factory superclocked.

I used the old parts to build my niece a system she now uses to play SW:TOR with my bro. Apparently, she's quite the little Jedi :)

I run the 560 myself, ultra works ok, till you get in a chopper or Jet, the load is to much and it gives off fake turbulance. I can play on high and record just fine tho.

Hey guys,

Has been a while since I've made a post on the forums,

But I might upgrade my desktop with about 400 euro/dollar.

But Im just wondering what rig/pc specs you guys have, and on what settings
you play. (low/med/high/ultra).

Is the Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 good enough for Bf3 high/ultra settings?

Let me know;)

~Bird.

I Have a quad core, 450 gts, 8gb ddr3, asus mobo rig that can run it at med/high setting with no lag on wireless LAN. a gaming rig for this really will cost about 550-600 us dollar for a full PC

The 560 IS a decent card. I heard it can run high. But not ultra. I know with my 560 Ti I can run it on ultra. The Ti adds the major difference if I can run ultra or just high xD Im getting about 50-60 FPS on my 560 Ti on ultra

Core i5 2500k @ 4.6GHz
EVGA GTX 560 ti 1GB (w/core @ 950MHz)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
1TB HDD
1920x1080 on 23'' 120Hz LCD

I run everything on High with Mesh on Ultra. AA off cause I use the FXAA injector (looks much better imo, just a personal preference).

With AA on my frame rate would drop down into the 40's during heavy firefights, but now that I'm using the FXAA injector instead of built-in AA, I'm usually in the ~80 to 90 range during those same firefights. Plus, with AA on I would find myself running out of VRAM a lot, since I only have the 1GB card. With the FXAA injector installed, I haven't capped out since.

I would personally wait until the Kepler release before I bought anything right now. Supposed to come out at the end of next week, so I'd wait and see what that does to the market.

Good luck!

Speaking of laptop, I do travel a lot for my job so I do have to play on my laptop sometimes.

i7 2630M (2.8GHz in Turbo)
6GB DDR3 @ 1600Mhz
GT 555M 2GB
500GB HDD
1600x900 (720P) 14'' screen

On this one, I have to play on ~Low with Textures and Mesh on Medium. No AA. The FXAA injector helps tighten the graphics up a bit, though the game still looks good even on mostly Low settings.

Dramatically different than playing on my desktop, but it gets the job done when I'm on the road and away from my desktop. So it's just peachy : )

i5 - 2500K 3.4, overclocked to 4.4

Corsair AX1200 PSU (for future proof in case I upgrade)
1 - 2TB HD
1 - 1TB HD
1- 750gb HD

Hai BF3 Division. I play SWTOR but pawn at BF3. Guy's do competition? Anyway's, this is my type of thread..

2600k @ 4.6Ghz
ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68
MSI GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme
Antec 1200
Noctua NH-D14
Asus Xonar DG
G.Skill Ripjaw 2133mhz memory
Sparkle 750w Gold Class Modular PSU
Crucial M4 128GB SSD
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB HDD
nmediapc fan controller/card reader
Asus VE248H 24" & Asus VE228H 21.5" (so i can browse teh webs while I play)

I have a ~$1000 monitor en route (should get it tomorrow) for only $400. Crossover 2560x1440 IPS monitor. The thread heard round the world . The Yamasaki Catleaps are only $368 or so right now. That is a $800-$1200 monitor for $369. Apple,HP, and DELL absolutely rob you when you buy those here in north america.

Everyone's ordering them. It's a steal. Direct from Korea.. Amazing visually.

Also have another GTX 580 Lightning Xtreme en route, so I can keep my min fps good when stuff's goin down in BF3.

Add my Origin guys, jagzed. & my battlelog http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/#!/bf3/user/jagzed/

Want to WC one day...

First picture is my switch to Intel day. I had a 1100t/Asus m4a89td Pro before this. The Bitfenix Alchemy Cable Extensions are the best of the best btw.

That's a sweet rig you got there Jagz!
Are you planning to play at full resolution? How precise is your mouse :p

Oh, and why do you have an accordion in the middle of your tower? :)

Have fun

jagz you have the same exact case i do except your cable management was a lot better, my rig has too many wires to hide in that tiny side panel easily

Most people give their specs but dont tell me what setings they play on. Thanks tho.

I was wrong about my 460gtx.

I mean, it was smooth and fun on high settings, but when I turned on render.drawfps 1, I realized I was at 35fps or so. Dropping to low settings bumped it up some, I think around 50's.

I've made a few changes since :)
