BF3 hacks and hackers. An interesting read through.

Redditor kill it, kill it before it reproduces

Edit: After reading idk what to say, like he kinda did something to help the BF3 community but at the same time he was a hacker

Hmm. I don't know what to say either haha.
Either way his reason is not a legit excuse for his hacking. Most people see a hacker and leave and find another server, or an admin takes care of it. Most people don't go and buy hacks because they got killed by a hacker.

what i found interesting about this was all the hacks i didnt realize existed, like the one shot kill hack. The fact that kind of hack exists is a pretty big security blunder on DICE's part. that would also explain some of the really crazy deaths ive encountered at 100% health. more importantly is that this shows the incredible challenge we face with our admin duties on our servers to help catch hackers. Until DICE brings some sort of video playback functionality, catching hackers that use these programs will be even more be more difficult than i originally thought.

I don't think anyone was arguing that he had a legitimate excuse for hacking, though he did turn it into a sort of "scientific foray" into how the majority of hackers do what they do.

He explains a lot of the problems we've had complaint's about from members on our servers. As for the hacks they've been around for awhile, maybe a new way to keep them from being detected, but the hacks themselves have been out for years. In a game I used to play everyone started hacking and the clan I was in told me I should too. Told me a site to get them from, site had a video of what they offered. Same stuff that's going around now. And, no I didn't get any hacks, just had to quit the game. Got tired of being a target.

it sounded more like he got the hacks to troll hackers, it seems like he used them more for that purpose and then discovered himself just how many hackers there were by using the information using the hacks he had, i personally don't see him as a bad person because it seems he plays legitimately. I'd be lying if i said i wouldn't hack to troll a hacker i just don't because I don't want to risk my computer getting viruses as well as putting mu steam account/orgins what ever account at risk of being lost

This has been going on since day one, including bfbc2, and obviously many other games. I guarantee we have people amongst us that are doing this. I've suspected many, but since it's so hard to prove it's really pointless to worry about it. If EA really wanted to take care of this issue, they could. It costs them money.........punkbuster isn't the solution.

People constantly whine and cry about their privacy, even though things could most likely be done in ways that wouldn't truly affect privacy. I'm guessing because of that they most likely aren't going to implement controls, invest the money to develop the tools necessary, and go through the necessary legal steps to ensure their behinds are covered.

There will always be people doing this until the game is locked totally down. That always makes people upset because it limits their buying options among other things.

No one show this to xosniper, he'll complain even more and kind of be right.

What I'm curious about is which servers he went to? like HC or normal. Or which region

The one hit deaths aren't always hackers though. The client hit detection is extremely poor in this game (one of the worst I've ever experienced in a PC game, I sometimes wonder how someone can even play an FPS on consoles because of it), so sometimes you only get the first bit of an animation before you die. But in reality he could have been spraying you down for 2-3 seconds. Like others have stated, it's very hard to catch them. No in game recorder, no spectator mode and poor anti cheat tools is what kills it.

Yeah I know, I mean in his article he made he seem like it was okay, which isn't a good excuse because that's just adding one more hacker to the bunch.

He was just pointing out that it would or could be a good tactic to pick out hackers and ban them. Neat article. Someday maybe it will come down to having admins do that, but like jtip said, these have been around forever, at least I remember this same sort of hack for COD UO.
