spy a little Justice for eGO servers

There is always a time when your playing, and there is someone reeking havoc, and there are no admins around.. (i.e. inappropriate sprays, hacking, glitching, exploiting, profanity, etc)

1. If there is an admin, they got it covered there is no reason for you to help (unless they don't see whats going on, and need to be told)

2. always try the team chat @ speak to admins command before getting ahead of yourself, and of course check your friends list and make sure no admins are online and willing to help.

3. If all the above fail then it's your turn to act, first take as many screen shots you need to prove that this person is breaking a major rule, second remember to get the persons steam ID (ex. STEAM_0:0:46457809 ) an easy way to do this is to go to console and type Status and a list should show up with the steam id's and names of the players. a screen shot here will help.

4. As soon as you can, contact an admin. (via steam, or eGO, and if you have vent, that always helps)

5. Ask the admin for the chat log during the time you saw the rule being broken ( of course explain to them first why you need it)

6. Next you want to file a Ban request which you can make here by starting a new thread ( this is private and only admins can check.)

7. Make sure to have it in proper format

Title/Subject: [TF2], (In game name)

Offender's Name:
Offender's Steam ID (STEAM_0:X:XXXXXX):
Date and Time of Offense:
Server:
Admin(s) Present at Time of Offense:

8. Make sure to post links of the chat log, and use a website like Photobucket to upload screen shots, and then copy and paste the picture URL.

9. After this, usually an eGO Division Leader will check and go over your Ban request, and make sure everything is in order.

*ONLY MAKE THE BAN IF THEY PLAYER DISAGREED WHEN YOU WARNED HIM*

This thread was created, because today we had a little incident on dust bowl, and i want members to know that they don't have to stand and watch, they can use so many resources to keep our servers clean and rule breaker free.

Add G's and O's to your steam friends list. I'll accept any eGO members and hop into any server that needs help, as would most other admins. Don't feel afraid/intimidated, we don't bite.

I can vouch for noise biting, his teeth really hurt.

But in all seriousness I too accept any eGO members onto my friends list and if you ever need help don't hesitate to ask me.

I really love this list - great idea.

Remember you can open the console and type in "condump" to create a text file of all the console activity previous which is saved in your Team Fortress 2/tf folder.

It's helpful to use that as well as the chat available on our Stats page to pull from.

Also, please add me on Steam if you need an admin. I am usually available in the mornings and weird times when most of our regulars aren't on.

e's - don't hesitate to contact admins. You're not bothering us. If we act like we're being bothered then we aren't doing our job.

Also, i would recommended including the ability to take screenshots of excessive racism or derogatory remarks. Also, the taking of demo's would be very helpful!

Thanks! I was wondering what I could do when someone was acting up without an admin around (which admins are rarely not available). Although, my steam will not let me send friendship requests because it says I do not have any games on my steam account (even though I have 3), so could I ask any admins who see this send me friends requests?

If I dont already have you added I shall, also those games were they purchased? or f2p games? if they are f2p then it doesn't count towards steams "Buy a game add friends" system they have haha.

If the e is the only one on the server then call an admin in to come help.

If there is an admin in the server but, say not on your team so he didn't hear it then type @ in team chat then your message.


You really can't prove it but you can, like I said before get an admin to come watch him/her and hopefully solve the problem.

Chat logs are retrievable via http://edgegamers.gameme.com/tf , no admin required.

Its been said by many high ranking Admins to please enter Ventrilo and seek out an admin instead of trying to handle things yourself. Over admin-ing is probably the worst thing that can be done on any server. Its ok to make an effort to keep the servers clean, but unless you have taken admin training, please be mindful of what your unsure of.

If you ever have any problems, My steam is always open on my cellphone so im reachable anytime and anywhere *with data service*

Please keep in mind im not trying to trash your thread, but some of these actions are not for e members, most of these would actually be more suited for the private eG board.
