Which server to avoid

Hey guys, when I pub on non eGO servers, I take off my tags. This is because many communities or groups hate eGO. Give me a list of all the servers or groups I should avoid, I don't feel like getting banned anytime soon.

its kind of hit and miss and often times they don't publicize the hate for us in the servers. I use the term sparingly because no one really hates us...there is much more to it than what you read in brief articles or see in short movies filled with raging commentators.

I'd say keep an eye out for those we ban-on-sight (pm for details) and anyone with our tag at the end of their name or even backwards. but just have fun. If you don't wear the tags, what are they going to do - google you because you acted suspiciously like an eGO member? Lol

Nothing personal, but are there any better servers than the eGO servers. I don't think I've played on anything but an eGO server since around a year before I joined. The attitude our community represents is almost impossible to find anywhere else.

Just a gentle reminder:

Even if you go to a non-eGO server and take off your tags, you are still expected to follow our rules regarding respecting other people. That does not mean you try to enforce our rules on someone else s server. You are their guest. It means you follow their rules and set a good example. No foul language, no disrespect, etc.

If word gets back to leadership that you are not acting according to our principles you may find yourself on the wrong end of a depressing conversation.

As a member of eGO, you are responsible for your actions in the entire online gaming world, whether or not you are wearing an EdgeGamers tag. This means that you could be removed from EdgeGamers for bad conduct on servers or forums outside of eGO.

The quote is from an old thread by Artimus which unfortunately has been streamlined away. It was called "Clarification of eGO Policy" While the thread is gone I have no reason to believe the policy has changed. Even if the policy has lapsed, treating people with respect is something I encourage in any venue.

Heh. Honestly i've never stepped outside of eGO servers since joining expect for Realism Scrims. So i wouldn't know. But like Quaffer said, you're a guest so act like that. Act like you would if you were talking to the father of a girl you like/ are dating and want to make a good impression

The only reason I play on non eGO servers is because you guys have realism only on Sat. and I really enjoy doing them every other day.

Not necessarily. Many times has leadership been known to randomly pop up and say "Surprise Realism. Get yo buttoxes in vent now!!!1!!!!!1one1!!1" But we haven't had one of those in a while. sure wish we would *COUGH COUGH*

I think the only time I play on non-eGO server is when I get invited by someone. Other than that, I stick to our servers.

I use to take my tags off whenever I played on other servers. Ultimatly, being a DOD:S fan it's unavoidable. we have no rotation server, and we don't have daily realisms, so I do venture out.... I've come to terms about something though. Most people who hate eGO have a right to hate eGO a lot of people have been mistreated by certain admins (most of whom are no longer in eGO) or know someone that was. A lot of people don't like the fact that we're family friendly and they dislike us because we take action on keeping our servers in our own image. I go out, I use my mic. I don't aim to show them how "Awesome" eGO is by using my gun, I don't go out trying to disprove their beliefs that eGO sucks. I simply go out and play like I would on our own servers. I act no differntly, I don't hide, I don't mute myself and I just play. I've had a lot of people who hate eGO changing their minds because they realized that eGO isn't actually that bad, that eGO admins are actually cool people and not ban/kick crazy (most aren't anyways) and once they realize that hey, we're just like any other DoD:S guys, they stop caring. They don't have to like us, they just have to stop caring about hating us...

I guess that's my rant. Be yourself, play on other servers if you want with your tags, don't troll back, and if they bash eGO and you can't take it, don't troll. IF you really need to rage quit. Personally I prefer explaining how eGO works and get the conversation back on track to DoD:S related. I talk alot of other servers just like I do on ours. There's no differnce. It's only how you let it be. IF you mute yourself they'll keep trolling eGO, if you ragequit from the comments it doesn't help, just be a good person and remember those values eGO cherishes

I myself could care less. I've been criticized for having the eGO tag and I've gotten crap for it but I just ignore them and screw them up in-game. I've never been banned for being in eGO and joining a server that is run by a clan who hates us.


It makes them a lot more angry when you say nothing and dominate them a few times or so. Go with what beef said on page 1 of this thread.

Also keep in mind that 95% of the groups that hate us have completely dead or near dying servers and THEY come to play on OURS all the time now. They're just mad their servers are dying and even at their height they were nothing compared to our DoD servers.

Very rarely do I play on non-ego servers. But never had a problem. If I have to remove my tag to play in a server I wont bother playing there.

I wear my tags all the time and play on many servers sometimes I get a little comment but I just let it roll of my back and just play like normal and I've never had a problem with the tag. I did get baned from the BIG FAMILY Strand map but it was because I Killed to many people and they thought I was Hacking LOL! Only time I've ever been baned!

Prior to me Joining eGO about a year and a half ago i played sometimes on other groups servers. I found once i joined eGO on a few but not many you get silly comments from people that have been ban or kicked from eGO servers since they break a lang rule or something. Most of the larger groups out there hold many similar standards and I have never personally been kicked or ban just for wearing a tag. Most of the time I feel like i just considered as if i am a normal player. Treat others like you want to be treated is what i say. If your friendly and they are then cool. If you are and they are not just ignore it and move on.
