I started to use that as an option. I know several "kids" who are old enough to drive, but have no ideal how to deal with a flat tire.

One of my high school's physics teachers has a quiz part way through the year about changing a tire. He takes the whole class out to the parking lot and shows them how to replace a tire (on one of the student's cars of course) and then a couple weeks later quizzes them on it to make sure they know that important life skill.

my basic electronic teacher taught us how to change the brakes, tires, headlights, taillights on his car and another teacher's car. Since we have a car garage in our H.S. some teacher and students ask the tech department to do simple fixes on their cars

my dad also taught me other stuff like changing the oil, some basic dashboard work, changing the air filter and some other stuff.
