A sniper is a highly trained marksman who operates in one- to two-man teams which maintain close visual contact with the enemy and engages targets from concealed positions or physical distances exceeding the detection capabilities of the enemy personnel, without being detected. These sniper teams operate independently, with little combat asset support from their parent units. Snipers typically have highly selective and specialized training and use high-precision rifles and optics, and often have sophisticated communication assets to feed valuable combat information back to their units. A snipers purpose is to take out key targets like MG and rocket positions so that the rest of the team can move up. In this game you cant base it on kills, it needs to be based on accuracy

How are you going to measure best sniper?

I noticed that most people who snipe are hidden in safe locations. They sit inside tiny corridors or inside safe windows looking through a tiny opening so that they are safe. Then you have snipers who move up forward but they protect themselves by their team, I call them "baiters". A baiter is a sniper (or any player in particular) who has his team move up foward and he stands behind them so that he is safe from enemies coming up front. This is defensive sniping.

But then you have wreckless snipers/players. Snipers who are not afraid to die. Who push themselves all the way up forward. Who are sorrounded by enemies on all sides and who are standing by themselves out in the open. This is aggressive sniping. In order to effectively play aggresively takes a lot more skill than playing defensively.

So how do we measure the best sniper? I would say probably by looking at how aggressive they are with the sniper rifle. The GameMe stats for DOD shows the kills/minute that a player gets. If one is good at playing aggresive than their KPM will be much higher than those who play defensive.

Another factor, but not as important, is by looking at the accuracy rate with the sniper rifle. Again the game stats will provide that information.

Consider this scenario. Suppose you have a player who has a score of 100 - 15, he got that score by hiding corners with MG and his play time is 3 hours. Then you have another player, who has a score of 100 - 40. He was playing out in the open and he got that score in 30 minutes. Who is better? Is the one who hides corridors really a good player? No, he is just concerned about his KPD. The one who is not even 3.00 is doing something hard, dropping 100 in 30.

Indeed, the mg campers or corner hiding snipers hardly ever get hackused, even if they have a spectacular KPD. The players/snipers who get accused on a regular basis of using some sort of cheat for aiming are the ones who are the better player because the rest of the players do not even think he is legit.

So who is the best sniper on your servers based on these criterion? Without much thought I would say stevenhawking. You probably do not really know him. He is the guy with the Steven Hawking avatar and plays under many different alias. He plays all kinds of weapons, sometimes he snipes. And when he snipers he is a beast with it. All him, by himself, out in the open, dropping 200 kills in 60 minutes. He does not play that much on your servers. But I know him back from BattleGrounds. He was banned so many times on their servers because of all the hackusations he would get. I remember that he once got a score of 310 - 45 on anzio in like 90 minutes. I was there to witness it. I could not believe that a player who is not camping at all can frag that hard. I never seen anyone do anything close to that. So he is not only my top sniper but I think he is the best dod player.

But in DoD:S, it's really hard to tell the exact best. I've played lots against Blue Stealth and honor his skills, but i know that there's always guys that usually do not choose the s.rifle so often but are really really talented, so it's unfair to name the ultimate best.

I realized another good choice is handcold. He only plays donner on your servers and for someone to basically go 2.50 kills per minute on a map like donner is extremely impressive. This guy is one seriously scary beast.
