Engineer: More Gun. Thats only one part but even for a new player thats a good start. Stock shotgun and pistol really are you should use in the beginning as accuracy will make you just as deadly as your sentry gun. Any Engineer can rely on his sentry to get a kill but to become a good one you have to think of yourself as the main destructive force with your sentry and dispenser giving you the edge to slow down and hold off the opposing forces.
If you are really good and can get a synergy going with your building placements you can almost hold off the entire team as long as a few of your own teammates pitch in to keep them somewhat unorganized.
