Lag in Harvest

So recently, I've been experiencing continuous lag in this server. Not sure why to be honest because it's used to be so smooth. It's can't be my internet because it's always doing well. Not sure if an update or something along the line messed up the servers really bad. Just now I tried to play and due to the lag, I couldn't. Other people among the server were also saying they were receiving lag. Just curious if you guys could check up on this or something.

You are probably not going to get a legit response here. The tf2 discussion board is like /a/ so if this is still a problem for you, you can do this:

- Check your internet settings
- Check your video settings
- Check your nat (Not sure if nat has to do with computer games, i am mostly console gamer.)

If all else fails, drop box it.

Hey, we are srs......sometimes.....

It seems that many people, including me, are getting the lag you have. The best course of action is probably just to sit it out until it's fixed.

Alright I have temporary disabled compression on Harvest for the day. There will be an increase in bandwidth but I would like to know if this reduces/removes the lag.

Valve has stated that it's working on fixing the lag as it seems to be affecting everyone, so hopefully it's not our server. And thank you GamingRobot for tweaking things!

I would like if you guys posted in this thread if the lag is gone, or not on harvest.
The best test is a full server.

Second that.

Most of the servers are experiencing the same thing. I know this because I've been through a bunch of them. They feel minor, but it tends to annoy others a lot. This has started since the steampipe update, I believe.

Valve just released an update that should fix the lag. Servers are updating now.

Just go off the Foundry server, my ping was 35, in/out all good. but the server had lag spikes at least 3 times during the 2 rounds I was there ( 2 of the 3 were big lag spikes the 3rd was more minor).

Server was not full at the time, 10 r 12 players if I recall

Hey, normally, I do encounter lag alot. Firstly as I am from the UK, the ping gets quite high, due to the length of the connection. Normally, however what I do, is if you opened up Task Manager, head over to processes, and close those big processes down, then you shouldn't really have much of a problem. They normally are:

1. Bitorrent
2. Dropbox.
3. Skype
4. Any other programs that open when you immediately log on
