Server Map Variety

I was wondering who would want more variety in maps on at least one of the eGO servers. I don't know about you, but I keep getting sick and tired of playing the same maps over and over again. Because of this, I am starting to play on other servers simply because they have a better variety of maps. Anyways, my idea is that one of the eGO servers has all the expansions for BF3 enabled, while the other server can stay the same as a compromise for people who do not have the expansions.

Keeping in mind our server popularity, I vote that we leave All Popular Maps exactly how it is, as it is high in the ranking partially for that reason: it's accessible by anyone.

If we want to make any changes, they first need to be thoroughly tested on All Pop #1, and it is also imperative that we keep supporting the original All Pop server.

Also, please keep in mind everyone, the more recruits that we can amass AND keep around, the more likely it will be that we receive freedom to the servers. While you may feel like I'm beating a dead horse, many of you simply may not realize how much recruiting does for this division. Essentially, the better we look in the eyes of Council, the more likely we are to receive another server to do with what we wish.

Highway needs to get rotated off a cliff... It's a good map up until the 36 person mark, then its just bad is an admins worse nightmare when it comes to enforcing the Spawn Shooting Violation Rule. But with BF4 just around the corner I really don't mind that much having to put up with it for a few more months.

I get your point. However like I said you could have one server with a better variety of maps while having the other server (the highest ranked one) stay the same. With that solution, you wouldn't even need another server.
EDIT: I should start to attempt recruiting. I just never get around to it.

its totally understandable that ppl get bored of the same maps. i get bored of them myself. but like PBJ said we need the servers to stay populated. the best example of what happens if they dont can simply be found in our past. we used to have like 4 (maybe more dont remember) servers but we couldnt get them populated. after a bunch of different setups and attempts to push the population we ended losing servers simply because they wouldnt drag anyone into the community and mostly stayed empty. now we have a server setup that works for us (yea the aftermath one was good too god knows what happened there), is easy to start and actually brings in new players into eGO (good job recruiters). this is what we were looking for a long time and we finally got it.

dont get me wrong id love to see something different. i play on other servers as well to get my mind off the normal rotation we have and i dont think there is anything wrong with it. but i find myself coming back to our server because once i had something different our rotation is enjoyable again and we still have our awesome guys on vent who make the game a bit different as well (dont usually get the communication on other servers when you dont know anyone ). so with bf4 pretty much right ahead i believe we should do everything to push our servers to the maximum and drag as many players as possible over to bf4 so we have a good headstart cause im sure at least 90% of us will be playing bf4 when it comes out

we have alot of ppl who play in this division but they don't play in the sever's maybe because they want more maps to play or they want a hard core sever but you guys don't get it all you care about is get more ppl i joined ego to play in the severs with other ego and have fun but that doesn't happen anymore and haft the time their is no ego in the severs which you guys don't care as long is their ppl in the sever to keep them full so the sever are in the top 10 i guess that all ego cares about maybe it is time for me to move on but i don't really want to

Let me elaborate a little. Previously in my response I covered what is necessary for us to do - but without sharing my own opinions on the map layouts. Thus far, I like what I'm seeing: B2K maps sound excellent, and I have no close at heart feelings for Tehran Highway, either. However, the servers themselves have never been what made eGO for me - the members and the attitude has been, and for those reasons I continue coming back to our servers to attempt ridiculous stunts and have a laugh. Regardless of the map or mode, I simply enjoy playing with you guys, and while not everybody has my exact philosophy, a big part of recruiting is an attempt to share that element of goofiness, teamplay, and camaraderie with as many people as possible. Unfortunately, to maintain such a large, welcoming, and high-profile community, we need to be extremely well-funded, and that's where eGO Council comes in; to continue to receive said funding and remain a viable division of the clan, we have to produce a return, which comes in two forms of "advertising": server filling and recruiting, which turn eGO into a self-sustaining beast.

That being said, and despite my personal distaste for hardcore and passion for TDM, I think that we as a group of members and leadership need to have an intelligent discussion, brainstorming possibilities and voting on them. From there, the only requirement which remains is continued support of the servers, and that's a ball which is passed around from member to member; just remember, some members may not like the same sport that you do, but they play it to profit your team as a whole, and when there's something which you may not like to play, try to push through so that we, as a team, as an organization, can achieve success.

I agree with PBJ tampering with the rotation now could cost us our rank and player base.
But if you want more maps try Drop Boxing it. A divisional leadership member will look into it. . If you click the bold text it will take you directly to the drop box

I personally would like to see more sniper maps

Edit: Another great response from PBJ, a while back we were close to loosing our servers because the numbers dropped, i think it's important we focus on keeping our servers up on the list for people to see (This can be done by giving the pubbers maps they like) and to recruit in the process.

If we keep on working like this i have no doubt we can make it back to the top ten

Well the problem with that is, not everybody has premium. Sure a lot of people do, I don't though (been saving money for BF4.... I think they released them too close so I didn't waste any money on premium). But a lot of people have separate expansion packs - I bought the Limited Edition, so I have B2K, plus CQ was made free, so now I have that too, but I don't have AM, AK, or EG. Therefore if a new server was made with everything, people with only several expansion packs wouldn't be able to play. I do see your point though, the base maps get tiring, but what you're asking is only half-thought. Maybe it's just from my perspective. I know a lot of people have Premium (I rarely get killed by someone without the "PREMIUM PLAYER" label), but for those who don't and are in this clan, some might feel excluded. That's one of the issues with expansion packs :/ It would be better to implement a system where people can play on the maps if they have the expansion pack, and then when it changes to a map they didn't pay for, they are simply removed from the server or put into some queue or something like that.

What I would be more interested in is more GAME MODE variety - adding Rush to the server rotation or voting system and/or TDM (though I'm am not as big a fan of TDM as I am of Rush).

I said change ONE of the servers, so that people like you still have an eGO server to play on. I never suggested we make a new server, only that we mix it up a little on one of the existing servers.

However, like PBJ said, I am with eGO for the community and the great attitude, not for the servers. (They are great servers though.)

I dont mind metro as it is good map to get the server going when its low in numbers
