Wow. Besides being pissed at what I knew they would do at the end, show was excellent overall. Great character development, good plot, story kept moving forward, good action. Epic titan fight in the last episode. If only they didn't show the titans face at the end. Instead of having that 1 second impact the rest of the episode and the previous 24, I am going to ignore it for rating purposes.
Going back to character development, it went well with the actual characters. I've also read the manga and I must say the VAs did a nice job getting the personalities. The animation and drawing itself I enjoyed. I haven't see suck thick lines in a while but I thought it fit very well as the show was more "serious" if that makes sense. Overall, great show and a ton of fun to watch. 9/10

I don't understand what's so wrong with that.
Anyways, I knew the series wasn't going to be finished in this anime. I figured they'd end it on somewhat of an ambiguous note.
Throughout this anime there has never been any happy note. The 1 victory humanity secured barely meant anything when most of the people within that section of the walls died trying to block it. Annie's capture did nothing for the Recon Corps and Erwin just barely managed to talk himself and the Recon Corps out of trouble.
The show was very realistic, and I liked that. Death was conveyed as death should be. Not valiant or heroic, but as people trying as hard as they can, begging and screaming, to live.
Animation was solid. There were plenty of eye-catching shots and very smoothly animated sequences. Soundtrack was also amazing and although limited, the music consistently created chills. Esp. in this moment:

Course the openings were also excellent and captured the theme of each story arc.
What I assume to be Attack on Titan's main theme is that one must become a monster to fight monsters. That's a really good theme and it's one I haven't seen before in any other anime. I really like that.
I wouldn't say that Attack on Titan was a mindblowing experience on the level of Future Diary or Elfen Lied. I did throughly enjoy the series though. Its realistic depiction of an otherwise ridiculous premise was executed with style, culminating into a grand finale with an ending that kinda left more to be desired. Regardless, Attack on Titan is now one of my all-time favorites. I highly anticipate the anime's return after the manga ends. (if the show returns.)
Apparently there's a dub coming out done by Funimation and I'd gladly watch the series again in dub if it's interesting. A German-sounding Eren sounds really interesting.
