WARNING: this is just me and my ideas and opinions, you don't have to share the same feelings or agree. I just needed to get this out, because lately it has been driving me nuts, and I figured if it was driving me nuts it might be driving others nuts. Idk, but yeah....

So, this has to do with jail. Personally, I feel as if jail has lost a lot of its flavor, I just dont enjoy playing as much as I used to. I remember when I joined (over 2 years ago) the jail server always had players, pretty full but now its mediocre at best. Yes, it has its moments when it fills, but not like it used to.

Personally I feel like a problem that I have seen is that everyone is starting to take it too literally. I was playing ct the other day and I was warden, and I gave a command to the 3 remaining ts to go over to the wall and do a low spray contest, anyways, one of the guys just runs right to me. I tell him about 2 more times to go over to the wall or I am going to shoot him and he doesn't, he just runs right at me. I shoot him and kill him, he then messages me telling me that I freekilled him because I didn't say "NO DETOURS NOR DELAYS." REALLY??!?!? Imagine if this was a real jail, and the warden tells the prisioners to go to their cells and one runs right towards a guard, the guard says to go back or he will hit him with his night stick, the prisioner keeps running....whats going to happen? The prisioner is going to get hit with a club straight on the head and get sent to a solitary cell. And he cant argue "Oh, you didnt say that I couldn't delay or detour..."

I dont remember jail being like this...so literal...I mean I know it is fun to find the "loopholes" in the instructions of the warden, but if you actually find one, and the cts dont correct it, it probably means that they didn't find it, which means when you exploit the loophole, the cts will probably kill you. Then you will get all butthurt because "ADMIN HE FREE KILLED ME!!!!" COME ON PEOPLE GROW UP!! In the end, you will probably get freekilled and it just leads to arguements between cts and t, which will ruin the fun of the game. I mean come on, how old are we??? I mean, I feel like I am playing with a bunch of 14 year olds (I probably am...)

I say that we grow up, stop taking jail so literally, if the warden says do something, then do it. I challenge you to find ways of rebelling like they would in a real jail cell. You will probably get shot, but there is no reason to cry about it. Its a game...

There is a reason they plant the ts with pistols and grenades. In a real jail, they would make shanks, maybe the pistols and nades act as that. The ts can talk by themselves. Organize yourselves, use the tools you have. And stop taking everything so literal...Cut the kindergarden crap out, relax, enjoy the game and play...

Now, if you dont agree with what I am saying, that is fine as well, we are all entitled to our opinions, this is mine, just throwing it out there, and letting you know that I probably wont be playing that much jail anymore because of this reason. It has lost the fun for me.

yeah man i agree with you dude it happens i get mad when i get shot alot for CT for not following orders even i do but still kill me for no reason.

Gimpy, I hate to say it, but I completely disagree with you.

It is specifically ALLOWED (and expected) for Ts to find loopholes in the orders given. One of these is detouring and delaying. This isn't like real-life jail. Prisoners don't stab each other, have "assigned" seating in the cafeteria and TV rooms, etc. This is just a CS mod, and that's the way eGO intends to run it.

I can appreciate that you are disappointed/frustrated with it, but the fact of the matter is that as a warden on the jail server, you have to give better orders. If the prisoners are exploiting things you do wrong, then start doing them correctly. If you kill someone for using a loophole in the orders to their advantage, then you are a bad warden, no offense.

Just like real life, on the jail server, you have to take responsibility and accept the consequences of your actions. :P

I get what you are saying, this is just how I feel about it. If this is how eGO wants to run jail, then that is how eGO will run jail. Obvisouly I don't run the jail servers and if everyone enjoys it like that, then so be it. Yes, it does frustrate me, and maybe I am a bad warden (I always prefer the t side anyways) but I was just throwing out my ideas on the whole thing.

I CHALLENGE you to stop playing CT and play T side for 1 month. Then we'll talk.

Some questions to think about while playing:

1) What's the purpose of CT's?

The purpose here is to give concise and direct orders in order to move the round forward while having the T's play and have fun, without rebelling.

2) What's the purpose of the T's?

The purpose of the T's is simple. To rebel. This includes finding loopholes in orders, finding ways to cheat, to win games, to kill the CT's. If we limit any and all of these aspects for the T's, what's the point?

In fact, maybe you don't want T's (prisoners). Maybe all you want is to simply be CT to run up a score that doesn't matter as our Jail server has no gameme points. If that's the case, why not just replace the entire T side with bots.

The reason why the server is setup as is, is to allow the freedom for creative orders, while also enforcing the ideal that CT's must be aware of the orders, concise in their orders, and exact in the execution of the order. The setup of the server also allows the freedom for the T's to find loopholes, to rebel, and to cause chaos.

As I stated, I challenge you to play T side more. And as you play, ask yourself, if you were more limited, would the server really be more fun as a T?

Where did you get the whole "maybe you dont want ts?" I actually prefer to play t. I was playing ct the other day because nobody wanted to, and I honestly dont care as long as the game gets to keep going.

And yes, I have played t, and yes I understand that rebelling and finding loopholes are the purpose of the t. But sometimes, it frustrates me, or some loopholes I think are ridiculous, "far-fetched," an example is the no detours nor delays...

Like I said in every post, this is me just going on my opinion, and everyone has their own.

Rebelling was far more rewarding to me when I was able to do it by exploiting gaps in the guards defensive lines, and not just running off unopposed until they corrected their orders.

Forcing the warden to add "no detours, no delays, no cheating" after any and all orders removes any freedom he has, and I've yet to see any creative orders actually come out of these jail changes. Wardens can't be forced to suddenly become creative and with all of these additions to what a Warden has to do, theres little to no incentive to try and command the Ts. CT is less about watching the Ts now, and more about watching what the warden says to make sure he doesn't make mistakes and hoping he can correct them before it results in you being killed because your hands are tied in defending yourself.

The Ts should not be given freedom to rebel because the warden left out a few words from his orders, but rather they should be required to obtain their own freedom by exploiting the lack of guards or by utilizing hidden guns to create havoc.

I've played T side plenty over the last few years, and T side was more fun and rewarding when I had to create my own chaos rather than having it handed to me on a silver plate by a warden.
CT however, has been made far more demanding to the point where there's almost nothing you can do to recover the round if the warden does not do his job of keeping the prison in order. Being prevented from doing my job because the warden did not do his puts me off from CT and jail in general.

See, I'm terrorbad so I suck at being CT and T so..yeah... :D I just go by impulse~

The Ts should not be given freedom to rebel because the warden left out a few words from his orders, but rather they should be required to obtain their own freedom by exploiting the lack of guards or by utilizing hidden guns to create havoc.

By that logic, if the warden says to go to the LEFT side of something (but meant RIGHT) and there's a gun or something on that side, Ts should be killed for taking the LEFT side, because that's what the warden meant. After all, it's just *one word* difference.

Precision and saying exactly what you mean are key to being a good warden. If you can't give the proper commands, expect the Ts to exploit it.

This is completely different to the warden saying go to race and Ts running around everywhere because the warden didn't say "no detours no delays." If the warden said his left, but meant his right, then that will always be on him. He gave the order and it's up to him to correct it. Killing the Ts following his order is not correcting his mistake. My example was leaving out a few words, changing the guidelines of the order. Yours completely changes the order into something different.

The warden has to be vigilant and understand that he will make mistakes. There are plenty of cards in the wardens pocket to fix mistakes even if he doesn't know what he did wrong. If you ever get confused the safest one is "All T Freeze" or if they are all together a better one is "All T's face XXX and freeze". That will allow your guards to feel safe and take down anyone moving. If you notice someone is coming at you and you don't realize you didn't say "no detours or delaying" you can repeat orders and add stay away from guards. That way the T's can jump around all they want; however if one runs up to a guard he is wanted.

Bottom line is being warden isn't so much about the orders you give as it is about how you handle the earlier round rebelers before everything gets out of hand.

First off, the warden is never going to be able to fix a mistake that he doesn't know is present.

Also, there is no card in the world that's going to save you when you forget to say no detours and your ct team on the ground floor gets mobbed. I always tell them to use catwalks, they never listen.

It's pretty annoying watching someone purposely run at the warden because they didn't say no detours or delays. It's like they do it just so they can warn for it, because they don't actually do anything except run around.

It doesn't hurt to get used to repeating orders. That way you can try to catch yourself. Or if you are with any guards that you know well you can ask them to please remind me if I don't get specific enough. Guards without mics are the ones that can hurt the CT's the most. If a T is chasing the guard he can shout detours! detours! hoping the warden will say something to open up the T to be shot if he continues. Otherwise the CT will most likely die.

And woe be to the CTs if I get a primary. I'm already dangerous with just the USP I find in my toilet from time to time...

Repetitive orders are the opposite of creative and fun.

I don't quite understand your argument here.

As a CT, you spawn with FULL weapons, while the T's have knives.

I guess my question to you would be, what are you proposing here? I'm always up for suggestions, however, let it be known, that if it your suggestion is to simply give CT's all the power, it won't happen. So, if you can be rational and reasonable, I'm willing to listen.
