I bought the trailblazer pack, so I will be in alpha and the beta and the rest. Should be interesting.

Those are the Landmark packs, not the Next packs -- Next's founders' packs aren't available yet.

They range from $20 (CB access) to $60 (Alpha access) to even $100 (alpha access + freebie CB keys to hand out) and all come with some unique goodies unique to their pack plus a retroactive collection of any cheaper pack's goods.

They r founders u get the title founder, they are called founders. You click founders tab to get to them. IDK why you think they are landmark packs, maybe because its land mark is a building stage for players.

He's not disputing the fact that they are founders packs, he's just stating that they are founder's packs for EverQuest Landmark, which if you look where you purchased your pack, is what they are for. EverQuest Landmark is built on the same engine as EverQuest Next, but isn't EverQuest Next. It's a building game.

But EverQuest Next (which doesn't have any founder's packs for sale yet on the site), and EverQuest Landmark (which does have founder's packs available for sale) are two separate games.

I think because you are an early Landmark adapter, you probably will be rewarded with at least beta access to EverQuest Next though.

Sigh, I give up what evs. Ill have to wait for them to announce when people will be allowed to join the process.

@Martyr: Exactly! Thank you. :>

So, Everquest with voxels?

Interestingly enough, it's more than just that. Landmark and Next are both upcoming F2P MMOs -- both are a different take on the franchise as it looks like it's a lot closer to a mix of Minecraft, Terraria and Starbound; it's not very combat-heavy or oriented (though it will HAVE combat), and is pretty much wholly centered around building neat things with what look like the most advanced tools for a... building sim, or whatever they call them. lol

Everquest Next is the OTHER new Everquest game that's coming out on the engine. This one is basically a mix of building homes and guild halls with a new advanced crafting system and active action combat (you can dodge, block, parry, jump over attacks, etc.) and use the environment to your advantage -- voxels means you can wholly reduce the environment to rubble, blow away a wall to get into a keep or eradicate a bridge to prevent foes from passing over it. There's more to it of course -- those are only some of the highlights, but it also strays away from the usual "Go here, click Exclamation Point Man, perform his trivial task of killing ten ratdrakes" with an intelligent AI system that creates 'live' quests as you roam the world.

This article helps explain more about both games and the differences thereof.

I think SOE has done a poor job of differentiating the two. I would go so far as to say that they are deliberately allowing the confusion to get money from people for an empty, unfinished MMO toolkit, though most sandbox MMOs have more to them, while they continue to develop the tools and the content for their next flagship MMO.

Chiller knows what he bought into, and is excited about it. There is a market and interest in games like EQN Landmark.

Thanks for posting that, it provided a bit more info about the differences and similarities.

Please let me know your thoughts. I am seriously considering getting this game and I have been greatly disappointed by the 3-4 last MMOs I have played.

i thought landmark was a building stone for next. like how the foundry is for neverwinter. Players can help build everquest next with te developers.

from what i understand that is that case man, and i look forward to seeing some of your content in that game im going to playing the crap out of this game haha

Nah, it's not a building stone at all. They're two full, whole, complete, albeit separate games that will be fully playable but will appeal to different crowds; Landmark is more for the gamers who are into Mincraft/Terraria/Starbound that love to gather, build and explore worlds and Next looks like it'll be a new take on the MMO genre (if they do it right).
