Anyways, its great to donate blood. First time i've seen anyone getting a letter, thats amazing :)

Donating blood? Want to but have hemaphobia and keep postponing it :(. Still, awesome that you would do such a thing ^_^

Nice storm! Id donate blood myself, but you know.... I'm attached to my blood.. and needles.. >.<

Wow, that is truly an awesome gift. I tried donating blood before, but passed out as soon as it was over -_-

To prevent that they have you tense 3 different parts of your body at a different time while donating. After that the nurse should of told you to wiggle your fingers on that arm. And then just sit in the chair for 5 minutes before getting up.

Also... I am fearful of needles... so I'm surprised I even did the drive. The 2 hours I waited was not nice... that's one reason why on the letter you see him apologize for a bad experience.

Nice part of after donating... I was able to quickly grab myself together. I stood up walked over for cookies and sat and ate like 3.... wasn't that hungry even though I would of loved to eaten all of them... After that I stood up for class and was shaky in the legs. Rest of the week I would fall asleep in class and teachers were like "Leave him alone... it will be 4-6 weeks before he has that pint of blood back" and I'm just going "zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

Awesome, StormChaser! I donate every chance I get - my grandfather was very big on it, and he led by example. I love that it doesn't cost me a single thing, but can be a lifesaver for others.

Gerbil's blood saved 5 hamsters today or was it 1 chinchila

That's pretty awesome man it's cool to see that the blood you gave was actually used to save lives! I gave blood about a month ago during a school drive. It took about and hour and thirty mins for the whole thing to finish up but I'm glad I get to a chance to do it every few months at my school!

After BCT? I don't remember them telling me anything about that... Did I miss something? I haven't tried to give blood yet... but ya never know.

I waited 2 hours, some people waited 3 hours. and every minute I was nervous due to the needles...
