Egypt, Payload, and Valve Maps

Other than just killing everyone anyway and getting grief for it, but when else am I going to be able to kill players with higher scores? :P

When you grab a pocket medic and you destroy the other team as an offensive class once the server's full c;

Filling servers should remain as a priority if you want to keep them all.

If you really care about your points, then I suggest playing on servers that are just filled and keep them from emptying out. Before, we could easily fill a server and it'd be fine. Now sometimes a server's population fluctuates after we leave the server to fill the next.

Aside from removing gameMe completely (which won't happen), I don't think there is anything that can be done to keep those points from dropping during silly fun times.

I think, right now, the current minimum number of players on a server before GameME starts taking note of play is 6. Can that be raised? I don't really have an opinion either way, just curious.

Yup that's why I'll join the more filled servers with pubs and get my tf2 fix. If not i'll join and actively try to fill till there's 6 people on the server (when game me turns on), as for gameme maybe raising the limit to when it activates to 4v4 (8 ppl) or 6v6(12ppl) or something at a new round, would be better.

That question will have to be directed to Spray, as I believe he's the only Tech member with access to gameMe stuff.

No. People should instead fix this perception that GameME points should mean something. I've heard the, "I don't want to fill because it lowers my score," line more times than I would have ever expected. If that's the mentality one wants to take, he can look in the mirror when his favorite server is next on the chopping block and he wants to find someone to blame.

I completely agree with this. I'll admit, I do enjoy seeing my points go up and the satisfying kd ratios, but I do also enjoy filling and the random games of just having fun.
And in all truth, we all play TF2 for fun, don't we? So while I can see the point trying to be made about sacrificing points while filling, I get just as much fun out of derping around with my fish scout or being silly for the heck of it. Some people aren't like that, but at the same time would you rather see your favorite home server die because all of the regulars don't fill, and instead join a full one for points? It's touchy debate but I actually love filling when I get that chance even when I lose those points because I'd rather see the success that the server has once we've done a good job.

Short story, points are cool, yes. But really they're just points. They aren't even really much of bragging rights because the system is pretty wonky unless you get way up there. Filling does more for eGO and the servers than an individual's points.

I don't even pay attention to them when I fill.
Just my thoughts...

Look I personally don't care about gameME at all. But I totally get where people are coming from. There are points that give you a ranking higher or lower than your friends. Maybe people should not care. But as long as there are points people will care about them.

I fill because I enjoy playing on servers with very few people. But some people don't enjoy it. And if there is a thing you don't enjoy and it lowers your stats, you are simply not going to do it.

Meh, I used to be so into points.

Funny thing though, I used to look forward to filling because regulars and admins gave so many more points than the pub mob. Ya'll are crazy.

When I reached my rank cap at about 80, I realized that to go further I needed to either sacrifice my fun in TF2 and become the sweatiest tryhard all the time or get a reliable pocket medic. Since both options weren't good, I just typed gameme_vanish.

Now I only play sniper and trolldier. Check out my point graph. I dropped 20k points :)

Sad to see Valve maps go. It's a shame too, because I always saw ads for filling different servers rather than VM...

I had no idea people even gave a crap about points. I hid all the gameME messages because they spam the chat.

It's a fun way to be competitive in a casual gaming environment.

Some people are really in to it and want to be the best of the best, or at least want to have something to be proud of on their favorite TF2 servers (ours, of course).

I'm neutral about it.

I don't really care too much about being on the top of the leaderboards, I mostly just like the daily ribbons they give out. If you look on my gameME page, I have 55 different ribbons, most with different tiers/stripes. This summer, I'm thinking of trying to collect some more.

My general opinion on the whole mess with points and filling is that points and filling are and should be totally unrelated from one another and to care more about one's own gameME stats rather than filling our servers is just plain selfish. Even if you're just messing about while filling the servers, and your points are drooping down, they're only going down by like 300-500 points; if you're filling all of the servers. Once the servers are filled, then you can go ahead, grab a Medic, and destroy the other team while gaining thrice the amount of points you lost. Simple.

See I guess it's a bit of the opposite for me. I don't play regularly enough to care about an overall points system. When I want to play hard and competitively, getting to the top of the leader board and MVP is my goal.

Plus, I just love playing peaceful sandvich hoovy and spycrab, which unfortunately, does get you killed at a higher rate.
