Another quick update, people. As you're probably aware, with 24 teams this year we will be splitting everyone across 2 leagues, 'Alpha' and 'Bravo'.

To spice things up a bit, rather than randomly assigning teams to the 2 leagues, Dangle, who will be commishing the 2nd Yahoo league, had a fun suggestion where him and I take turns 'drafting' each of you (me for Alpha, and Dangle for Bravo) by posting in this very thread.

@Dangle -- Let's do it this way to speed things up a little. 1st pick is for 1 team only, but for the 2nd through 12th each pick is for 2 teams, and then the 13th (last pick) is for 1 team. Also, since this was your idea, you can decide if you want to go first or second. I will update my first post in this thread as and when teams get selected for either Alpha or Bravo. Make sense?

Once all 24 teams have been assigned to a league, I'll send email the registration links to everyone, and we can also begin the dice rolls to determine draft order as well as division membership.

The "draft into leagues" is interesting. Have we figured out how we'll determine the overall champion between the two leagues (or if we will at all)?

PS - my vote is for the later draft date. I currently have no logistical preference, but I think it's better to make the draft as close to the first day of the regular season as possible - it leaves less time for changes in the real-life rosters.
 
With the first selection in the 2014 Manager Draft, Bravo League selects two-time and defending champion, Efren.
 
Either draft date is fine for me. I assume you mean 12 noon PST, not midnight;) That is 3:00 pm Eastern time.
 
With the second and third selections of the 2014 Manager Draft, Alpha League goes top-heavy, selecting Advisors Q-tip and Wewo.

With the fourth and fifth selections of the 2014 Manager's Draft, Bravo League drafts a pair of promising rookies with their own Advisor chops: Bigbird and Predator Lark!

Bravo League staff comes forward to present a special number 83 jersey to Lark.

With the fifth and sixth selections of the 2014 Manager Draft, Alpha League picks perennial spoiler, Dr.Compton, and the 2014 dark horse rookie, Mavwreck.
 
With the eighth and ninth selection of the 2014 Manager Draft, Bravo League selects hungry veteran Zer0 and newcomer Donn... I mean Dodgy.
 
Man I thought Bigbird would fall much lower than that so we can only classify that as a desperate reach....definitely a high risk, low reward pick =P

With the tenth and eleventh selections of the 2014 Manager Draft, Alpha League picks league sophomores Nuckin and Bay Area.
