Highschool

Well I guess it was inevitable but as an old Highschool player I just wanna say that I will forever miss it and will always have a place for it in my heart. There was no map quite like it and I'll always remember the good times I spent there with some really cool people. Props to I believe it was RogueSniper for the awesome remake and I just felt likle I should show some appreciation for a map I spent thousands of hours on. Much love, =(eGO)= *thom

I spent a few hours on it during the period of it dying, and I can honestly say I really did love it, even as a member outside of the CS division. It's very fun, different, and creative as a map, and I do miss it as well. I hope you guys come up with something new soon, I'm getting a bit tired of the vanilla stuff ;-;

maybe we should try making the old highschool map the default.
after the change, highschool kinda died out. dunno if its cause of the player base or for other reasons, but its worth a shot.

Totally agree with what you said. Though I do think it's more of a player base thing. A few years ago, ofc when it was the old map, there was always a group of regulars. Other clans that regularly played on it, that didn't have their own servers. Popular groups back then such as "wtF." and "Illegal" both I have been in way back then. It doesn't seem too rational, but them both going innactive has put quite a number possibly on players to play on highschool. I also think it could be that most of the CS:S community that still plays doesn't know about the map. Given the fact it was made by a fellow eGO member, and not a map like Dust2 or Office.

I wanna say alot of the dying out is due to the fact that many of us regulars on HS were in a fairly similar age bracket and as many of us have entered adulthood and stuff, life throws more responsibilities at you and you get tied up with other things besides gaming unfortunately. At least that's how it was in my case and just the natural falling into other games after spending thousands of hours on CS:S might be some of the cause as well. Either way I will be coming back from time to time into the other servers and it's always nice seeing an older eGO from way back showing some respect and saying hello and whatnot :]
