Important! SOS:Jail -- Survey for JAIL

It was kinda the same before Blackmesa server in TF2 died, last chance to push it to the top but it didn't work out and that map is now just a sunday event

Did someone mention Black Mesa??

Anyways, I don't know, I recall having my Jail Admin class and its just a whole other monster on its own. Too many variables to blame for its lack of recent success. I will say this, the most fun I've have on there was when OP:X invaded it that one night while I was still briefly in CS Division lol. I'll admit that was fun, guess it comes down to fun wardens too.

I really wish it could go back to 1 1/2 years ago. All the way when I was just an =e=. It used to be so fun with MiniNayNay, Gerbil, Enfo, Buff (lol), "rareboy", ExOH (was just an =e= like I was, time flies), etc... Then something changed and people started to leave one by one. Pretty soon no one really played Jail and I had no idea why. I stopped a little while after that. I guess my question is, what changed? Can we go back in time lol?

I think most people just got tired of the game mode. 1 1/2 years ago, there used to be several TOP 20 JAIL severs. Now, there's only 1. In CS:GO, there's 2.

To say the JAIL Game mode is dying might over exaggerated, but it might also be true. So now, we're reaching out to all our members to seek answers. If you guys want to keep the server and play, what is it going to take? What changes do we need to make?

I think what took me away from the jail server is cs:go. When I started to play this game, it sucked me into competitive like you wouldn't believe it. I don't really return to source now, due to me being so used to CS:GO mechanics after playing it.

I think everybody knows what I would like to happen to the jail server by now, so yea.

^ same bro, I feel the same way.

Yup, in the days of old when I joined (only 2 years, not much) the server was a pain to join because it was always full of course, no clue why all of sudden it stopped filling, one day it was 32, then the other 24 and then it was barely surviving with 10 people

Jail has been dying for a long, long time. It pains me to see it leave because I've had some of my funnest and most memorable moments in that server.

cryptex is the only one that can save us now

i hate to say it and i know alot of people have emotions tied up in it but i agree with Christy to let go all together or if leadership approves it change it to a different mod type server or just a different server

i just did a full jail mod search and sorry to say an came back with only 20 hits which means it's not very popular as a whole anymore where as the classic source maps i.e assault, aztec, nuke and few others and mods like gun game, b hop, surf and few others seem to be very popular with the general public

i know some people want to keep it but you have to look at the bigger picture here and what's best as a whole despite personal options

I think Counter-Strike as a whole has turned into a more competitive atmosphere. It used to appeal to jail and minigames servers but now with the addition of matchmaking it's making it easier for people to enter the competitive scene. You used to have to gather a team and play in a league or purchase ESEA to play competitive matches or pugs. Now all it takes is a simple click and boom I'm in a pug. It's easier to play casually but in a more competitive way. I don't think there is a solution to repopulating a jail server since the Counter-Strike community is moving towards a preference of competitive play.

Mhm, in the true vanilla jail days. Good memories, but that is what Jail is now. Just a memory that people have and a myth and story to tell newer members of what it was like to have Starscream and BloodyBunny wardening and making up fun stuff.

Then of course there was the map failjail....good memories. I think it is just time to retire the server. It has served its purpose and we just have to move with the change.

Pretty random time to post but I think the rules became more important than having fun, people willing to break the rules when necessary became a rarity. That's how it was for me anyway, on my way into inactivity... I only give my 2 cents cause jail used to be the best thing ever.
