Soupy you're making the mistake of thinking "airshot" derives from the verb "to shoot". In reality it derives from the noun "shot" as in a shot in the air. Thus someone who air shots is an "airshotter". An air-shooter is someone who shoots air.

The "airshot isn't even a word" argument won't help. It's closed-minded thinking like that that prevents civilization from progressing. It didn't stop Shakespeare, and where would we be without the word "bedroom"?
