Gaming Can Kill...Seriously??

Well, we all know the stories behind people playing Starcraft for days on end without any breaks.

From where I'm from, we don't find it surprising, you can find these people gaming (DOTA 2 mostly) from 12 to 12 at cyber caf?s. It is saddening indeed, but what can we do? It is really cheap to play there lol, it's like RM2/hour (0.60$/hour)

Ive seen it lots of times if your on it 24/7 it can kill you or arm your brain apparently

I think this is the case about the Taiwanese Gamer that was playing League of Legends. If it was in fact this, then it was a long time ago. Plus, why would you play games for 3-Days straight?

I was just reading about how world of Warcraft addiction can cause people to literally go psychologically crazy and even kill themselves. I was reading an article yesterday so when I saw this thread I wanted to share. The article was about a 14 year old kid, his parents grounded him from using the computer because he was playing so much world of Warcraft he was skipping school and his grades had fallen to below a 1.0 GPA in high school. His parents thought they should take away his computer and they did. He ended up killing himself a week later. His parents said he had threatened them by saying if he wasn't allowed to get back on the computer he was going to kill himself, obviously they didn't believe that he would, and he did.

Really upsetting that a 14 year old kid's life was lost because he couldn't live without world of Warcraft for a few weeks. If I can find the actual article in my history I'll post it.

Back when I played CS 1.3(2001?) there was incidents in Korea of people dieing in internet cafe's playing Starcraft for too long and forgetting to eat/drink.

between leaderboards,'being first', wanting to relax, and I don't even want to think what else.. theirs a lot of reasons people play for extended amounts of time.. Sad to hear about another gamer going though ._.
