On the Css dust 2 server it is normally almost full with many players playing. With this said the players can get away with thing that are not allowed such as swearing. If the leadership could change the dust 2 into a rated R server it would allow the admins on the server at that time to be able to enjoy playing the game and not have to worry about admining the whole time on the server. I have talked to many admins and talked about not wanting to join dust 2 because of this problem. If we could bend the rules to make dust 2 a rated R server it would make lots of people and me happy to be able to play on dust2.

Here's my take on the swearing in the servers..

I don't mind players swearing, truly I don't. It is not a big issue. The only time it becomes an issue would be when people are using vulgar language to insult another player or use them to belittle them.

Another time it becomes an issue is when players use racist language for sure. Racism/Racist words should most definitely not be allowed.

But it is up to the Advisors/Division Leaders/Community Managers and such to decide if such actions should be changed or not.

If an admin is called to de_dust2, it is their obligation to go in there and keep the servers clean, from my understanding. Some admins might not be familiar with the CS community but I'm assuming the no profanity rule applies to all eGO servers. Also, I don't mind admining in de_dust2. The more we w/k/b these players, the more they will learn to obey our rules. If they choose not to follow the rules, they can game somewhere else. If other players see an all talk warning, they know not to cuss.

While it's up to Leadership to decide on matters such as this, I am personally against this idea since making such a large server Rated-R will only lead to even more problems. Dust_2 (despite the jump to 64 capacity) has been maintained and kept under control for years with the current status quo. A better solution would be to have at least one admin on each team.

Rated-R can also lead to racism, which is definitely inappropriate.

Great this swearing question popped up. Sometimes it happens(heat of the moment, anger, what not) but today while playing Italy, there were some guys swearing(admins did a great job by warning them-and the involved players complied) but there was something I observed. There was this player that started repeating the swear words on the microphone and his voice seemed really young(less than 13 y.o,). Asked him how old he was, told him to be respectful and read the rules so he wont get kicked and he started repeating some of the curse words(but this time directed at me and before he disconnected he said something about my mom too-didn't mind didn't care). The problem with the "R' rated servers is that you do not know the age of the players that connect to the server. And like this kid from Italy, they are impressionable(I know that they can hear cursing from outside, net, home, school, etc) but the problem is that they might start directing their frustrations toward other players and that might lead to other problems from simple cursing to bullying other players, racist language and so on. On a different note do not forget there are people who rage while playing(allow them to curse) and you'll see a disruption of the game play when they start spamming the microphone.

To get control of dust2, get the respect of the regulars. ; I go into dust2 and it admins itself. True story.

Also, helpful tip: Don't admin every little thing, know when to let stuff slide.(This will help with gaining respect aswell)

I agree with Vicki, I myself am a regular in d2 and people know their place and they respect myself because I respect them.

I am on d2 a lot and it isn't a hassle to moderate language and have fun playing. By implementing the w/k/b system we show other players that we do care about our servers and value it's players. After all de_dust 2 is a christian server ;)

eGO has no affiliation with any religion.

CS Leadership is looking into your ideas.

Our success is also attributed to eGO's mission, which is to provide a place where gamers of all calibers, from all over the world, can meet for family friendly, respectful game play. eGO servers are branded ?punk-free?. We often receive notes from players who only play in eGO servers, proclaiming appreciation for a place where families can game without being surrounded by the abusive stuff found on many other servers.

The above are the reasons which I would have to disagree with the idea of making the server Rated R.

We are a family-friendly community, as such there are rules in place that allow for it to be a friendly and respectful environment.

Just my 2 cents.

I don't really have an opinion on the change, all I can say is that Disrespect and Rated-R and not the something and we can prevent them from coming hand in hand if the change was to ever happen.

True, but what I was meaning is that if we allow the use of language, then we are also allowing the gap between language and disrespect to become closer, if that makes sense -

People that often use language also tend to lash out more often then those that do not. Something which I've noticed quite a bit.

That and, as mentioned, we are a family friendly community - people went to leadership and other members in the past (and most likely still do) and appreciated that we don't allow language on our servers and that it's a place where their kids can play without the atmosphere of other servers.

I'm fairly certain we have members that are in eGO for that very reason as well - that we enforce a friendly and respectable environment, and not allow the same things other servers do. To allow the use of language would, in my opinion, be rude to those very people and the 'image' that is portrayed of eGO.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, anyone. I understand where the idea came from, but I just don't like the idea of having it.

Also, my apologies if any of this comes out harsh or rude itself, as it was not my intent.

Changing the rating IMO, would only cause more problems. I routinely play in the server most if not every afternoon and during those times there are plenty of kids that are under 18. The admins do an excellent job handling people who swear or spray tags. I know it's hard to not swear, but personally instead of saying it on the mic or typing it out, just say it in the privacy of your own home.

Anyone can tell you I'm all for leniency but the rules are the rules. If someone is breaking them, please follow the w/k/b procedure. I for one am not opposed to multiple warnings especially for different rules broken and when the server has a low population. Dust2 shouldn't be any different. If someone is breaking the rules, warn them. Generally speaking, they will stop. They will say something about how they always cuss and this admin usually doesn't say anything and you know what, that's wrong. You not warning for someone breaking the rules makes other admins look bad when in all honesty they are doing what they are supposed to. The admins not doing what they are supposed to are the ones that should look bad. Just keep that in mind.

Also to add, "This clan's foundation rests on honor, loyalty, and integrity. There is a heavy emphasis on maturity, fair play, helping others and having a fun and competitive gaming experience that all can enjoy." eGO shouldn't bend because a number of people who likes to cuss come to our server.

Very well spoken. This exactly reflects how I feel.

I've been there numerous times, and I know where this comes from. All I do is give a general warning, and everyone ceases. It's not an issue. They know that we enforce rules, and if they don't, show them we do.

There is no reason to bend rules on something so popular that has been in place for years.

Other divisions I beleive don't have the language rules. If I'm not mistaken, bf has some sort of language leniency because of the characters in game yelling out vulgar language, correct me if I'm wrong. But why change something that isn't broken? We've had the same system since the beginning of Cs, and other divisions before that. Why change now?
