I just come from getting a 2 hour cooldown from a match after killing a "teammate" at the start of a round. "Well, fermenx, y u haf to kill ur temm8?!?"

Glad you asked, I got paired with a lobby, filled with entitled :cursing: that tought they were better when we all had the same score. I was playing normal, last match of the day wasn't paying that much attention yet I wasn't on a negative score, all of sudden I hear one of them asking my rank, I tell her/him (squeaker idk) it was MG2 they laugh but say nothing, later on I just do some goofy crap because I got scared and Mr. "Smurf" with 2 kills more than me and we were losing (Note that this was like round 6 we were tied) say "No disrespect man, but you really suck" and adds "How did you get to MG2 sucking that much?" at that point I lose my cool, they all die and blame it on me saying that they'll kick me because a bot is better, I complain in all chat, say some really bad stuff, let the other team now they certainly are winning then kill my teammate when round starts, because there's no way in hell im getting kicked by a bunch of lobby 16 year olds that think they're better than everyone else in an MG2 match when everybody gets a bad game from time to time. :chair:

Things like that just make me want to slap everyone, instead of telling someone they suck or whatever, help them or just wait, it happens a lot of times (including myself) that first half is not that good but I end up top fragging the other half. Don't judge on round 5 people.

I judge on round one hahaha(joking). I understand completely what you've been through. 2 weeks ago had a comp and we lost the pistol round and one player was complaining that we lost the match up til round 10-11 when we kicked him(because he was messing with our morale- plus made 2 friends out of it). You get a ton of players like this especially in random MM so my advice is to ignore them and try not to give them satisfaction by responding to their comments, so they can troll harder. That's all you can do. Don't respond, mute when possible and if they kick you, they kick you(cant do anything about it) or wait for the match to end and try to get as many kills as possible, in case you lose the game, at least lose lesser points.

This happens at every rank. Have seen people constantly complain for the rest of the game simply because we lost the pistol round. I block them communications with them by round 2. Letting them talk to you is just going to make you play worse and they probably aren't calling any important information anyway at the mg2 rank.

no. no it won't. but people will believe whatever they want to believe.

You will find people like this in every game you play. Your reaction probably did not help you either. First of all, after they begin talking trash, just mute them. If you talk trash back then that will obviously only anger them or give them exactly what they want. If you don't want to mute them then joke around and try to be friendly at least. Finally, if it does come to the point where they are going to kick you, then don't TK them.. that only puts you down to their level, and they would probably rather see you banned than just kicked.

Why not? If I post what I really had on my mind there I wouldn't really have my O rank anymore, funny thing is I got another team exactly like that like 4 matches after, I just decided to throw that game and guess what, scrubs are probably whining in MG1 still while I got to MGE in 8 games.

I'd recommend to not team kill again. If they report you for grieving you could get a higher ban in the long run(1-4 weeks). Overwatch ban

You can just exit out of game if they start up the vote and you know for sure you'll be voted off. Just reconnect and you're good to go (usually for 3-4+ premades that decide to kick the random right before they win).

Don't really get why all of you are saying to mute them. I'd rather just play along and have a good laugh.
What you are doing is basically making a team game all the more harder (i.e. not being able to hear call outs, not communicating).

Just try to get along - if you can't just tune out the negative things that may have been said to you or your teammates. (k)

Toxic teamates aren't going to be giving you callouts, quite the opposite. They are just going to interfere with your ability to play the game as well as you can. Muting toxic teamates is the correct option, but voice_enable 0 isn't required when cs:go has a feature to block communications with a player and then report them for abusive voice chat.

That simply is generalizing to an extreme degree. I can just as easily say that "toxic" players would call out more often than those acting in a "cordial" manner because they feel a sense of urgency and frustration from past incidents or mishaps within the game. They feel an urge to take the game seriously in hopes of having their time not wasted by a humiliating or even shameful defeat. I would agree that their performance may suffer as a result of the dreaded tilt but by no means do I think that muting "toxic" teammates to be the correct option. Its all a matter of perspective.

Your point is right, but like half of it.

Once you're the target it's kinda hard to have fun and get along with the players, so better mute them than kill your teammates like Fermonx did in this kind of situation.
As of making the team game harder- after playing multiple comps( on 3 accounts ~400 matches) you kinda get to this conclusion:

I usually don't care if they have something negative about me(I just ignore) but will mute toxic players when necessary due to ruining the gameplay(like still complaining when he dies so I cant hear footsteps, making false callouts, spamming the mic and so on).

Idk haven't tought of playing source for a while, competitive has taken my whole life even more now trying to make a team, I might go back to see if I can play there with what I have learned in GO :thumbup1:

I was referring to when its one round away from the end of the game and a pre-made team decides to kick you for shits and giggles (not as a result of toxicity) - DC and Reconnecting allows you to circumvent the kick.

Well yes, I'd be all for kicking this person as he/she is not toxic but rather trolling .

See, I'm confused here. You refer to the people that made fun of you (? - fail to see why calling you bad is taken so negatively - I'm bad (MG1) and I laugh it off whenever someone says something to me because I just run around the map with an awp in competitive) as squeakers which tells me you don't really think much of them as it is generally used as a derogative term towards children (pre-teen and below) [Using age to support your opinion is generally a bad idea].

Rarely have I seen a person deserving of a full on ignore (apologies as I have mixed up the terms: mute, ignore due to my recent addiction of LoL) as typically they shut up (or get told to shut up by the other members of your team) in order to clearly hear for the last remaining CT or T.

Even more rare (shiny pokemon rare) is encountering someone who is full-on verbally abusing you (I'm talking about mic action not the typical standard of "omg noob wtf" in chat). But these are extremes and as such should be treated as one.

I feel many of you are confusing/associating the terms toxicity with complaining (maybe its because the complaint is directed towards you?)
