Quick and possibly stupid question regarding plugging in a gaming monitor to my non gaming laptop. Can there be any issues like my laptop not being powerful enough or anything like that or is it just simply putting an image onto another monitor that's hooked up. I just want to be sure, I'm just tired of gaming on this tiny 17" monitor and all that so I'm thinking about getting a keyboard and monitor and plugging it in and doing a make shift duel monitor setup. I'm in no way tech savvy whatsoever so i just want to make sure before I decide to move forward with that idea.

Yes, just plug an play. Although if it gets to the point you are buying external monitors, full size keyboards, a gaming mouse, etc, you might as well build a desktop PC. We have some older laptops that can dock, because they were work laptops. So there is a docking station with a keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, etc hooked up to it, you just press the laptop down. But that's if you need to move your laptop between a home and work office. Not sure if they make them like that anymore. Old HP laptops.

Some can be closed and some can't. An example would be my macbook, which can't be closed... since a lot of heat comes through the keyboard on some laptops now.
