Microsoft changing how updates work Win7/8

Microsoft is going to start making Win 7/8 start patching the same way that 10 does. No choices about updates at least for non-WSUS users.

So basically patches will only come in Service Packs. That's sort of acceptable for me.

Gotta love MSFT, you never really know what's in those patches. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if some magic surveillance "malware" got into the patch "by accident" then after several years it gets discovered, they release a patch for their patch. Nobody would blink an eye, or cry a tear for the massive loss of privacy in our society.

Think i'm paranoid? Google the NSA's CNE Operations - or Computer Network Exploitation division - their job is to do exactly that. Thanks Mr. Snowden.

I do not really care on if they start doing that, eventually they will phase support on Windows 7/8.

I'm more worried about MS pushing out bad updates with no avoiding them. (They've done 3 this year already for Win 7)

To be quite honest, my desktop runs 7, but does not receive updates. I've always opted out of them to reserve space. All I use is Steam, and browse this site and a few simple others that are not harmful. Occasional video editing. So at the end of the day, I don't see this effecting me much
