Tech Help Windows updates not installing

Hey all, I am in need of some help. So im using Windows 7 & the Windows update does say that I have plenty of updates that need to be installed (i selected the option to where I install them myself). However, as of lately, they dont seem to be installing.

Is there some possible option that I need to look into to maybe override the lack of downloading updates by chance? Ive never had this issue before. Mind you this started last week.

Umm I haven't experienced this but I would try downloading one update at a time

Does it throw any error codes? Try installing in Safe Mode and if that doesn't work try installing them manually.

So I did the suggestion & tried downloading 1 at a time & it finally worked. I dunno why that happened. I will try going to safe mode & see if I can download more quicker that way. This shouldnt be happening tho. I should be able to download multiple at a time.

Microsoft has a Windows Update Troubleshooter tool you can try running.

Sometimes when you let the updates pile up it can cause problems , Onee update may not be able to install until one before it has and so on.

This. Sometimes the new update breaks old ones. It's really finicky system, especially if you don't update (Like me, who just waits for service packs)

have you tried calling microsoft and paying them for the same support you can get on here for free?

Hey all, so heres an update: I went onto the Microsoft forums & was advised to manually download the update from their site (via IE). However, now that ive downloaded the update, its trying to search for the actual update itself. Im wondering if its trying to contact a server to help download it or trying to find it on my computer to actually install it...

Lol my 10 doesn't update unless I tell it to.
However my gfx card seemingly doesn't like windows 10

if that is happening to you or someone you know, its because they have it set to install immediately. All my updates on windows 10 get installed at 3:00am while i am sleeping.

Hey all, I just wanted to give a lil update on the situation:

So first I found out that I needed to restart my computer because of the anti-virus. I made sure that none of the updates were ready to get installed. Restarted my computer & decided to try KB3172605 (the last major update that I needed). It installed just fine without a hiccup. Also the other update, which was needed for Uplay to run properly was finally installed & can play The Crew off that now.

One of the things I just noticed is that it seems to take 1-2 restarts for the system to recognize that the update is manually installed. On top of that, I decided to try & download the updates automatically instead of relying on the manual process & so far the process is working like its supposed to.

One final thing: I read on I believe was the Microsoft forum where its best not to install the security update because thats apparently how Microsoft is able to read some of your private information, but that doesnt make much sense. If anyone can clarify or enlighten me on the understanding for the security updates, that would be great.
