I have heard two admins on Jailbreak say that we were not allowed to unstack ts and ask them to face a direction due to the new ui. Is this true? I have asked other admins who have the ui and I usually get, "no, it's not a rule" or, "the ui is fixed" The two admins who tried to enforce the rule were BabyShowMe and Dominic. I just want confirmination that's all. Someone was just recently swapped for it in my game. Sunny

On maps where the update is currently broken as listed here these commands would be considered confusing T's. Otherwise there should be n problem. But that thread is a also a suggestion to ban such commands.

thanks for this helped a lot! they should really update jb rules. so many unspoken rules, it's insane.

This should not be a rule change only an update to the maps to fix the radars.

It doesn't need to be a rule. It's literally giving a command that they CANNOT do. Doesn't matter if it's not their fault, it's like telling Ts to jump somewhere that they cannot possibly make. They have no way of knowing which direction they're looking. Just be nice and tell them to face cells or look at feet or something and don't be toxic. There's absolutely no reason to get upset about not giving direction commands unless you're trying to be a cancer warden.

also when i say trap command, I mean on maps where the radar is broken, not in general

exactly. back then every single new person would ask where is north? where is south? but its easier if you tell them to face this "object" (cells or something of that sort).

Im not upset about not being able to make the command. It's just not a rule on the legit rules page which I think they need to update. I'll still be making the command on maps the radar works on because I'm the best warden ever. <3

It's already a rule.

As a warden, you must NOT ...

give dishonest, confusing, misleading or trap commands, for example:

No I mean a rule specifically for this situation. It was confusing for multiple wardens to hear it. Myself included. Just asking for one, that's all.

I think that, no matter how much i hate sunny, they swapped him for no reason. No rules are implied for facing directions, they have a choice of using panorama or not, and they can look at other ts for the command (i cant use panorama, it crashes when i try to join). But, as EpicFlamingos said, just tell them to face cells, face you, or any obvious object. Everybody saying its confusing ts is not right, because the warden had no intention of confusing them, nor is it a confusing command. Although it can be used as a trap command, its only if the warden was already told that some people don't have a compass. I used such commands after the update and almost everyone followed.

If the ui/compass is broken on more than half the maps it should just become a rule until maps get fixed. Easy answer instead of saying its allowed on the maps it works but not the maps it doesnt. Are you really going to rely on valve the game breaking king to fix something which might break something else or the busy tech team to fix maps for 1 server, no just make it a rule until it gets fixed

Alright so i got kind of a quick fix. Basically you have in the game options the option to make the compass move with your movement or not. North will always be on the top side, so you can set it up. Settings>Game Settings>Radar>Rotate Radar = OFF

There is no top. There is no me. There's just everyone else, and no matter their distance or direction, always show up in the top right corner. So no, that doesn't fix anything.

The fact you mentioned that you hate sunny so toxic man

If we made a rule for every single little detail, people wouldn't play the game. Most people that I've spoken to enjoy having less rules so that they can have a freedom in the game. Here is a scenario that might help people envision what I am saying.

Let's say you are back in grade school when recess was a thing (god bless). You get let out for recess, BUT you have to go a certain way on the monkey bars, only x amount of people can be on the soccer field at once, you can only be x feet close to another person, you have to go down the slide while being on your butt, etc...

I get that some things need to be specified in the rules, but when you begin to nitpick at the rules you start to make the game mode extremely strict and what I'd call "gray" to play. Add some color to the gameplay and enjoy it for what it is. Hope this helped a bit.

All I'm saying is until either the maps get fixed or valve fixes the game have face compass specific ways (north, south, east, west) not allowed but allow face towards like (object on map) allowed since its does not use the compass directly.

We'll use your grade school example if your on the playground and they say you can only look north and the kids don't have a compass how will they know witch way is north when the teacher doesn't tell them which way that is, but if the teacher said look towards the soccer field or monkey bars the kids will all be looking the same way.

I remember when wardens just told you to be frozen or face cells or put your face against a wall or door.

Good and simple times they were...

What school did you go to that didn't teach N/S/E/W and then used it on the playground???

But no, we aren't putting this in as a rule. If that didn't come across in the last post well enough.

If we had a new rule for every common sense interpretation, the rulebook would be 10 pages long and noone would read it. just use your best judgement in these situations, and 99% of the time you will be right. Honestly, facing commands are frigging dumb UNLESS its used to diffuse a hostile situation (such as the unstacking one explained). Just tell them to face an object and its ez. much easier to interpret for prisoners than saying "N/E/S/W" anyways.

Common Sense people. pls use it.
