Good old Steam Scams

yea these guys spend their days doing nothing but trying to scam people of internet/videogame cosmetics, i feel sorry for their stupid lives

Shrug, it's just human nature. Not saying it's ok, but scamming has been around of thousands of years. You just gotta be smarter than the scammers.

Yeah. Got in touch with Spino via Discord. His Steam account was hacked. He?s reported it and I?ve reported it as compromised. Also strung the joker who hacked it along long enough to get the ?admin? accomplice they always have and reported him as well.

We?ve had several members hit by these hacker/scammers. This is the 5th or 6th time I?ve gotten the ?I?m sorry I accidentally reported you? message. Sigh.

PLEASE set up 2 factor security on your accounts and use secure passwords.
If you have trouble remembering passwords, use password manager software like Dashlane, then you only have to remember one password.

THIS! If whatever service you're using allows you to setup 2 step factor authentication, please do it!

So they report you for dupes and try to get you to send them the items to verify that they’re not dupes but yet you cant pull reports from Steam, TF2 ,CSGO, or Dota2 anyways so, save for lacking any common sense and/or a brain, how does anyone fall for this?

This is one of the worst scams I’ve ever seen.

lol. If we have time, we love trolling scammers. Duck and mochabean are particularly good at it.

My favorite was when mocha strung along this “you have a virus” guy on the phone until the frustrated guy said “what version of Windows are you running”, and mocha finally admitted “Oh, I’m running Linux. Is that a problem?” The guy hung up on mocha. VICTORY!
