no one here will like how im going to say this, but because i love social deduction games i have to say this shit. "Do not kill players based off of sound, location, or weapon. You must have DEFINITIVE proof to kill a player." is complete bullshit and sides with those unable to conceal their actions appropriately. e.g. someone is sitting in an adjacent building in desperados using a scout to fire in another persons direction. he fires multiple times. i see the innocent react it to by moving around, no words. i move to the ladder in his direction based on the sound and move up the ladder, saying nothing. i blast him away and Id his corpse. sure enough, traitor. however i'm in trouble because i deduced the situation based on mostly sound.

this rule is absurd and ruins many of the deduction parts of the game and boil it down to just merely being in the room. it infests so many TTT servers across the various games that host servers for it and its ****ing killing me. this rule is just a safe haven for those who cant handle getting caught with their pants down and refuse to take the L. i dont give a **** if you dont like how im presenting this, but you sure as **** know what im saying. please reconsider this. it genuinely ruins any fun of the game mode and turns it into "how quickly can i get banned for reading these terrible actors/habits people have?". its a social deduction game. let people use their ****ing brains, for the love of god.

Well, this definitely could have been put in a much better way but I understand. I think that this is a rule so that people cant randomly shoot someone and kill them, find out its a traitor and nothing happens to them but it ruins the fun for the T which might end up hurting our player base. So, I'm not gonna agree with this as of now, but I also feel like with some other peoples thoughts on this it could become a decent suggestion.

the problem is that it restricts gameflow. im now forced to keep an eye on everyone i see to engage in any action. thats a huge advantage to the traitors and isnt much fun for innocents. it holds back the deduction part of it. sure the rule does cover certain behavior but i feel with a server like eGO that you should have the admin manpower for the most part to deduce the context out of that situation and prevent crybabies that cant handle getting got from ruining someone who can read them like a book.

even though you follow the guy of the gun shots and just kill him without knowing who he is shooting at, that would be kos of location sound and gun, and if you dont want that to happend then you go behind the shooter and see what he shoots at before you put him down, then you wont be in any trouble for then you got proof, not really our fault that people can't follow the rules we are, and since i see you have got kicked for it but the sound of your thread, you should just read the rules and follow it instead of breaking them, because we have those rules for a reason, for you can't use logic or common sense, even though it is logic and common sense to kill the player though, but you just can't if you really have it hard to think that, maybe its just not worth the time?

Good luck in the future

are you dull? reread my example. i saw who he was shooting at. it wasnt just one shot. it was ****ing 3. you're telling me that isnt sufficient evidence to say that dude is a ****ing traitor? these rules were built with coddling in mind, not to create interesting and fun scenarios. this isnt a matter of listening to the rules or not if you could possibly see that. this is a matter of the rule being ****ing stupid for a very specific reason and the problem this rule was made to solve can be solved with common sense and context on a case by case basis. the kick earlier today was a different matter of which i deserved. take a step back and try not to look at *how* im presenting this and use your brain. think about the argument i am putting forward. this rule is for those who have no concept of concealment and it actively ruins this game mode.

being toxic atm wont get you very far, and yeah just listen to the rules and the admins, or just dont break them not really that hard

rules can be changed. thats why im here. im being 'toxic' to show my utter frustration at how absolutely gutted this game has become because of thickheaded rules like this meant only to satisfy losers who got ****ing got. quit acting like you're above me as a person just because you wear the same colors as the house.

just ****ing think about my argument for one moment and maybe you might see where im coming from. if you dont then this rule was made for you so that you can play terribly and get away with it.

you do realize im enforcing the rules i dont say i aggree or disagree to the rules either im just doing what must be done, but since you have a problem how the rules are written, then you haven't played this these rules before, but well i have expressed my arguments enough take it or leave it

all you said was "im just doing my job". if you have no opinion on the topic i posted then please do everyone a favor and kindly dont.
"i dont want to read your example correctly. you broke the rules, just follow them lol"
"i made this topic because this specific rule is very stupid, rules can change"
"if you cant take my "i just do my job" reply then you can take it or leave it"
stop posting please.

This is a suggestion for a reason, the community is supposed to come together and discuss it with each other. So let's just take it down a bit with the pointless toxicity and insults thrown at everyone that doesn't agree with the suggestion.

Anyways, I understand where you're coming from to an extent. It can be annoying when I am 100% sure someone is a Traitor, but can't take action against them because I don't have "definite proof". Although, before coming to eGO and playing on our current TTT server, I played on and administrated countless other TTT servers that allowed killing based off simple deduction, (killing off weapon, location, sound), and throughout my time on those servers there were absurd amounts of RDM and just in general server disruption. Believe it or not, restricting people from killing based off sound, weapon, and location reduces the amounts of RDM in general, I'll leave some scenarios that I've dealt with countless times below to further support that.

• Killing off weapon - Someone picks up a Traitor's M4A1-S, gets killed for having the weapon. Innocent just got RDM'd.
• Killing off location - Shots are fired from a room, an Innocent goes into the room to check it out only to find that the Traitor has fled. Another Innocent comes into the room a little later, sees that the Innocent before him is the only one in the room, kills him based off the location. Innocent just got RDM'd.
• Killing off sound - Same scenario as location, instead base it off sound.

Obviously it's a big -1 from me, I personally think how the rules currently are help keep the server under control while still making it an enjoyable time for everyone.

While I also think the rule is too restrictive, this needs to be discussed civilly. Stop with the arguing and unnecessary swearing please.

i just want my point to be discussed. i dont want any "well muh logs show you were kicked so..." BS.
my point has been made, regardless of the decision ultimately i appreciate any genuine discussion on it and not nitpicking how i said anything or how i behave.
i'll leave you to it, no more amount of me yelling this is BS will change anyones minds.

In a perfect world with perfect admins, situations should be looked at as a case by case basis to decide whether or not there was sufficient evidence to kill them. Unfortunately, we arent in that world so I dont think you can get rid of the rule so easily without making things difficult, or without creating smaller, specific rules to make up for losing that one.

The server is also full of people most of the time so getting rid of this rule would make it really difficult on the admins, as it would be more reports to deal with. The rule isnt as needed on smaller servers where people know eachother and its easier to admin.

this post wasn't made for you to literally restate the rule and try to gain moral high ground. you didnt make a single proper point in an entire paragraph including leaking punishment history of kapi to try and discredit his suggestion.

on a side note, i don't necessarily agree with kapi on all aspects of this, but i do in some. I believe that if you follow through with this and kill a traitor, then it should be okay. but if in doing this you are killing innocents, you will need to be punished more harshly. this will kill "randomly shooting people" for obvious reasons. just think a little more. ttt could really be so much better, and it does 100% restrict the gameflow.

and kapi, you don't need to be a jackass to get a point across. lose the emotion and tone it down or your suggestion will likely be thrown out the same window it came in.

The point of TTT is to be vigilant of everything. That's how you succeed in the game mode and at any point in the server gunshots are being heard and if a rule(s) such as "Do not kill players based off of sound, location, or weapon. You must have DEFINITIVE proof to kill a player." are not somewhat implemented to a sever, especially one that almost always has 20+people on, then it might as well be a deathmatch server because then there would be a reason to kill anyone almost anywhere. While this is said there still needs to be straightforward evidence to kill someone on sight and with so many scenarios of why a certain gun was shot/obtained or why someone was in that spot at a certain time that the rules should be clarified a bit more on what is acceptable or isn't and possibly have all three aspects of this rule specifically divided into 3 separate ones each with there own degree of acceptance/discouragement.

In my opinion, the TTT rulebook is very vague and could be clarified or more specific on a lot of controversial rules that have come up over the years.

Would be helpful to have a example or possible demonstration, such as a video, if the time was put into it.

*Not trying to argue against/for anyone or thing just stating my opinion*

I thought the rule existed to protect Innocents from being murdered randomly by other Innocents by pure coincidence

This scenario is only 50% correct, what if the person getting shot at was a T that killed an inno the guy saw it happen and was trying to kill him. How would you know which one is correct without knowing the full story, now admining each case is different but because of our rules set in place for NOT killing based sound/location/weapon this indeeds helps reduce rdms that were explained by Damon Damon .

-1 cause even with this rule in place I can assure u several rdms still happen, if it was removed there would be chaos.

because the person being shot at was literally just standing there, hanging out. literally every single context clue pointed to the same thing. yet this rule prevents me from acting on it because i can not directly see him fire his weapon at someone and see the person shot at be hit. surely there is a way to allow players to use their brains and act accordingly while preventing/punishing those who would legitimately RDM. i feel like this rule only protects those who played poorly and punish those who can think for themselves. by your own admission RDM would still happen regardless of this rule. so why keep it when it hinders the fun of the game for innocents who, and let be honest here, need a bit of help compared to the tools available to a traitor or even detective. eGO has plenty of admins on at all hours.

You came up with the example I'm just expanding it.

You saw him just standing there at that moment, the round doesn't last a few seconds it goes on for a few minutes. So how you know for sure he didn't kill an inno at any given time in the round which you didn't see but the guy in the tower did and he caught the traitors name. As for the rule I stated it clearly lowers the rdm rate, as E EpicFlamingos stated in a "perfect world" there would be no rdms but this isn't a perfect scenario at the least
