So I'm not sure if this has been discussed before or not, but I have an idea that might let new maps or maps that are not played at all on the server get a shot at convincing the players of the server that they don't have to stick to just a handful of old maps to have fun. If you have been playing jb for a long time, you know the decision for the next map is all decided by the players, nominating, rtving, as well as voting for the next map when the time for the current map runs out. I think that what we could do is change the way the server chooses its maps. My idea is that every other round a group of maps that have not been played in lets say 8 hours or so, gets nominated randomly, instead of by the players. This would let new maps be played on and stop some of the meta of constantly played maps. I have a feeling implementing this would not only give some more life and enjoyment to the server, but it would bring back that fresh feeling of new maps with fun games and unknown secrets. I also know that some people might not agree with the every other round switch from player nominated to randomly nominated, but with all solutions comes new problems. I just feel that this might spice things up and make some people happy that maps can get the attention they deserve.

This issue has been discussed a few times. The main issue I find with this solution is it wouldn't work. The few times I have noticed unplayed maps begin to be played more is when a consistent group pushes for them to be played, whether that be by consistently nominating the map or showing secrets during freedays/st. Lets face it, most maps that are not played just are not as fun for each team as the main maps. Not to say some good maps can also be swept under the rug but I think this nomination system you proposed would just annoy players and force them the pick the "best of the worst".

The nomination system right now is fine, new maps are already being played if they are good. If a map randomly gets chosen and it's a bad map it's just gonna get RTV'd or the population is gonna 📉 . No one wants to play a bad map.

The solution is simple. Remove maps that no one thinks is fun after it has been played more than one time. If people honestly believe that there is bad maps in rotation then get them out of it.

I'd wish the cooldown for nominating a map after it has been played was longer, but removing new player's right to nominate doesn't seem like the move.

Also, on different JB servers, there are different popular maps. Like here we play a bunch of undertale, clouds and spy v spy. But on gfl/hg, they play a bunch of jb_hellsgamers, and on swoobles they may play a bunch of pyrenees, canyon, and the banana map. Brand new members are more likely to nominate these kinds of maps, where as 48-108hr members are more likely to nominate our overplayed maps.

I was just thinking since so many people complain about maps being super old and bad that it might be a good idea to bring it onto the forums. I known that most people are ironic about it and they actually do enjoy most of the old maps, personally I would like to see other maps and learn new ones in eGO since its a cool community rather than going to a dead or shitty jb server.
