Well, the law has been changed. Its 10 times better but still needs a lot of work.
The Law: "Possession of a vehicle not purchased through official means of a dealership such as PDM or Vapid that contain aftermarket modifications such as weaponry that can cause damage to life, limb or property, or armor plating OR possession of a tactical Law Enforcement / Military vehicle from Fort Zancudo unless previously authorized by the Unified Police Department. "
Lets break this down.
"Possession of a vehicle not purchased through official means of a dealership such as PDM or Vapid that contain aftermarket modifications such as weaponry that can cause damage to life, limb or property"
Does this mean an official dealership such as PDM can sell those types of vehicles?
"Official means of a dealership" What does this mean? Any registered dealership can sell them? How would cops go about proving this?
"aftermarket modifications" - So if the vehicle was purchased with those items on it its legal? Again, can you prove its an aftermarket modification?
"or armor plating" With this any vehicle with armor plating is illegal. Including police vehicles and security ones for government purposes.
"possession of a tactical Law Enforcement / Military vehicle from Fort Zancudo unless previously` authorized by the Unified Police Department."
So the military needs to get permission from PD before driving their vehicles??
Sorry for formatting but this needs to be changed. This law is just ridiculous. A better one would simply be "Any vehicle equipped with weaponry that can cause damage to life, limb or property"
There is no reason that vehicles with armor plating on it should be illegal.
