give me 5 good reasons that we should allow friendlies and i swear to god if anyone brings up cucksmith's video i will target you from here on out

When I first started playing TF2 I asked the same question. To me it seems backwards that we encouraged players not to play the game and disrupt it by simply not trying to play.

It took me a while to understand why they do it. Why load up a shooting game and why intentionally refuse to not play the game as intended.

The answer is community.

Let's be real, Valve has all but forgot TF2. They haven't updated the game with a major version in a long time. They could care less if tomorrow TF2 was sunsetted by the gaming community.

What has kept TF2 alive is the players who play it. People getting together and loading up a classic game and doing whatever they can to have fun. Friendlies are a staple stock of the community. They let us take a break and not get so burnt out of a game we love, keep numbers strong to encourage people to hop in and play. They make us laugh, and make us cry.

After dancing around high tower dancing and taunting for the memes for a whole afternoon, I understood. Sometimes you just need a break, and sometimes you just need to get together with a bunch of friends and do some stupid stuff for a little bit for the sake of keeping the game alive.

Why allow friendlies? Because they are a cornerstone of the communities that exist today, and help keep communities alive.

friendlies have never been an issue for me, its only when they start complaining about being killed that it gets annoying. you're on an fps game for crying out loud!

friendlies do nothing productive and take up server space

Except its not like we can't use the extra pop. Player count is player count. There is procedures for dealing with server disruption if it becomes server disruption, which it hasn't come close to yet.

It wasn't but a year ago I think we were in drastic need of server pop to the point where eGO almost yeeted an entire server.

Friendlies help keep the servers in balance and respectfully the implication that the servers are better without em is a rather harsh view. Who are you to judge how a person enjoys a game if it's not breaking any rules or harming the server.

If it is harming the server at a given moment, which is not easy to prove, a simple kick with a mention of kicked for server space can be done if they are disrupting the server. The qualifying factors for that are that the server must be full for the act of simply not playing the game as intended to class as disruptive behavior, AND it should also hinder the experience of the other players. Both must be met for it to be server disruption in the eyes of the rules of eGO.
Now, that being said, TF2 LE could loosen or strengthen the requirements at their judgment, but those would be the qualifying factors for server disruption in the community.

They've helped keep the servers with player count, and they are pretty fun to play with every now and again.
So what if someone wants to hop in the server and just vibe. Doesn't matter to you, you can kill em just the same. Respectfully I think ur making this to be a bigger deal than it needs to be.
