Master Chief? Mind telling me what you're doing on that ship? Sir, getting destroyed at Checkers by sober Anya Taylor-Joy. Welcome EdgeGamers to The Kuantum Gambit! This is a Checkers tournament hosted by yours truly, kuantum , to complete off last year's Chess tournament. This will be hosted in a similar fashion to the Chess Tournament in that it will be community-wide! There will be a public bracket after signups are closed and dates are finalized! This will be hosted in the EdgeGamers Discord Server via Checkers in the Park!

PRIZES
1st Place: $20 Amazon Gift Card, MS Event Winner, and MS Event Award
2nd Place: One Month of Dedicated Supporter, MS Event Winner, and MS Event Award
3rd and 4th Place: MS Event Winner and MS Event Award
Everyone Else: MS Event Award

RULES​

1. The EdgeGamers Code of Conduct will be enforced.
2. AutoJump (Forced Jumps) is enabled. Per the American Checkers Federation's official rulebook, Section 1.20 states: "All capturing moves are compulsory, whether offered actively or passively". This is default and will be enabled.
3. All matches will go until one player wins or until 15 minutes have passed. If there is a tie, a quick rematch game (8 minutes) will be played to determine the winner.

SIGNUPS ARE CLOSED!

The tournament is set and locked on Saturday the 26th, starting at 1 PM CST.

This will be ran through the MS Event VC so all you have to do is join in! It's real simple.

This is a Single Elimination, best of 3, tournament. Each round will have 3 games and who wins those games wins the round.

NOTES

If you do not know how to play checkers, watch this video and play some warmup games on 247Checkers.

The default settings include Forced Jumps. This means that if there's a piece on your turn that you can take by jumping, you are forced to take the opponent's piece.

Although default settings have it randomized of who goes first, so long as both parties agree to who goes first, this can be modified.

Each game will take 15 minutes, either by eliminating all pieces or by having the most opponent's pieces taken. If there is a tie, we will do a quick 5 minute game and see who has more. If there is another tie, we'll repeat the process until a winner is crowned.

You can resign your game but if you do, you will lose.
