bind mouse_x "+forward;-forward;yaw" should be fixed/patched, its exploiting. Anyone not using it is at a huge disadvantage, and this bind makes it where skill is not required anymore, please fix!
completely agree with this, in my opinion this is COMPLETELY the same thing as using the fps cap for bhoping. Not all players know about it, not all players use it, therefore it was removed for exploiting. How is this bind any different (as someone who is currently using it) not all players have it. IT SHOULD BE BANNEDyahallo! want to bump this because i genuinely think the bind is unhealthy for jb.
the main issue to me isn’t whether it technically counts as "cheating" under server rules... but it’s that the yaw bind removes a large amount of player input and consistency skill from certain games.
a lot of players don’t even know m_yaw exists unless someone tells them, which creates a weird environment where experienced players using this obscure bind (which thankfully is becoming more well known now) have a huge advantage over normal players.
some cancer jumps are quite literally almost impossible for those without it, whilst being trivial for those who are.
other movement communities have already taken a stance against this kind of thing, and FKZ, for example, considers yaw bind disallowed on their servers.
i think we should reconsider the current stance, especially for jb being mostly focused around movement skill. it's quite literally impossible for a person without yaw bind to beat someone with it in surf. you just accelerate a million times slower than them.
i think its a bit comparable to using performance enhancing drugs. the fact that something is possible through console commands doesn’t automatically make it healthy or fair. i think its rather obvious this isnt intended, and abusing an unintended interaction for a clear gameplay advantage goes against what i believe edgegamers stands for.
thank you.
mouse_x" (horizontal mouse movement), causing the game to repeatedly send movement state changes whenever the mouse is moved. In CS2, this appears to interact strangely with the subtick/input system, resulting in increased acceleration due to stronger strafe gain (and due to the increased air_acceleration value of jb it's even more noticable). What makes it even more controversial is that the effect seems tied to hardware and engine behavior as well, including FPS and mouse polling rate, meaning players with uncapped FPS and stronger PCs can gain even larger advantages from the same bind.+1 forgot to mention how hard it is to win surf as well without m_yaw, really good points!yahallo! want to bump this because i genuinely think the bind is unhealthy for jb.

best chance to see action is voicing your concern to valve directly, this just feels like another game engine moment, much like what bhopping and strafing was and still are and not something we can easily enforce fairlyyahallo! want to bump this because i genuinely think the bind is unhealthy for jb.

Nulls is literally SOCD btwnulling is essentially the same thing as SOCD though, its literallly a type of SOCD so by default shouldnt be allowed. for the official definition:
Nulling (Null Binds / Last Input Priority): This is a specific SOCD method. Whenever you press two opposing directional keys simultaneously, the keyboard ignores the first key and immediately registers the most recently pressed one. When you release the latest key, it reactivates the previous one without requiring you to repress it (Source: https://wooting.io/post/rappy-snappy-tappy)
if nulling falls under SOCD, and SOCD isnt allowed, nulling shouldn't also be allowed. there are also systems to detect this, which is generally widespread in community kz servers like fkz and also in cs2 premier, etc.
id really like to know more about it as it seems like some of the players that do use these (not going to point fingers but i know for a fact who some of them are) are at a significant advantage. thank you.

probably, main point is its not enforced. if we allow m_yaw we should enforce the rules to stop socd/nulls tooiirc nulls were banned like a year ago
they are enforced, if you suspect someone is using them you should absolutely record a clip where possible and make a report here on the forumsprobably, main point is its not enforced. if we allow m_yaw we should enforce the rules to stop socd/nulls too

This bind is something we have previously reviewed and made the determination is allowed on EdgeGamers' CS servers. Players may choose to use this bind if they wish -- plenty of guides are available online as to how to set it up. With extremely limited exceptions, we tend to permit any bind/action that can be done natively in the Counter-Strike game under normal circumstances (i.e. is not external assistance, does not require sv_cheats, etc.) on our servers -- this bind is not one of those exceptions.
