New DOD is garbage?

i love it. I love it all. Me playing a rifleman mostly, the M1 is better now, and my Kar shots always register. No more "wtf" moments playing rifleman. Now if i dont get the kill, its because my aim was off. Also, no more left peaking sniper cheapo's.

I like the cone of fire update for the assault classes. I hardly used the mp40 and thompson before mainly because i could shoot a whole clip into someone croutched from 15 feet away and not 1 bullet would hit them. It was utter rubbish... now i might actually use it from time to time.

Pistols, now theres a reason to switch to sidearm playing sniper instead of waiting painfully long while you reload and try and hit em with another shot from the springfield/kar scoped.

2 things i dont like.. decreased rocket damage. If anything i thought the rocket was too weak before, now its almost pointless to try and use it. And freeze cam, its good in TF2 but it just doesn't feel right for DoD:S. Also that steam ticket disconnect bug a lot of people are getting including myself from time to time is completely annoying. But im sure this will be fixed soon with a new update.

A lot of people are angry because they say it's turned the game for the noobs. If anything, the skilled people will be able to get more and more kills. Yes, its easier for me to get kills now, but its also equally as easy to die a lot more from other skilled players.

My biggest complaint, is the people complaining. If ya don't like it, don't play it and whine. Its annoying. :P

Dunno what to say. I both like and hate the fact you can move through teammates. On the one hand, I no longer feel bad about going prone in a potentially high traffic area when my allies need to cross through, but on the other hand it takes away the feel of the old version.

The MG sensitivity is a lot higher I suppose, but I never really got to play MG anyway, so I can't really tell. But I suppose that would explain why at one point no one was playing MG even with over 12 people per team. I guess out of fairness. I can't notice a difference with deploying one so far.

I haven't tried the rifles yet, but if what Bleed said is true, well I'm gonna be using the M1 more often.

I do believe I noticed a drop in the support weapon recoil. I didn't have to fight as much when shooting it while crouched.

I know the assault weapons have become more accurate and I'm both upset and glad. I'm glad for the same reason Bleed is glad. I no longer have to worry about spraying at someone while crouched about 15 feet away and all the bullets going around the target. However, the gun is now so accurate it lost the feel of being a close to medium range combat weapon. When I'm in the sniper house and someone with a tommy can squeeze off a single round from near the bridge and hit me in the head, I'm calling shenanigans.

I don't like the freeze cam. As Bleed said, it's okay for TF2, but it doesn't really belong in DoD. Also, the game seemed fine with the default class restrictions. On the one hand, now everyone can play what they want. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it seems to take away from the tactics. I mean when you have 6 machine gunners, it's kinda a bit much.

I also do not care for the fact your in-game name on DoD now goes by your steam id. I play TF2 and DoD and while I don't mind having my Sewer Ratz tag on in DoD, it seems so out of place in TF2. I liked having the two separate names for my 2 separate games.

I've been off for a few days due to being out of town, but from what I'm reading I'm rather looking forward to playing with this update. It's good to throw things off every once in a while, whether it be good or bad. It keeps players on their toes who have become set in their ways, as well as peaking interest once again as everyone will be discussing ways to deal with the changes.

Okay, I was a little off apparently when I wrote mine. So, on avalanche there's still limited classes, but on Kalt when I played last night there wasn't. Which is it? I mean I assume that they're all supposed to be one or the other. Also, the M1 getting tweaked... I love it. I can actually use the M1 now. Seems like they lowered the damage it deals though.

The M1's damage hasn't been changed. It was always a 80 damage rifle, unless you hit in the head. Around 60 damage for leg or arm.

glorious palermo update!

I have been playing through this palermo update(throwing up along the way:() and I have noticed that there is some horrible bullet registration problems with classes such as rifleman and sniper. It seems that my bullets register literally half the time. There have been instances when I have had the chance to shoot a guy who i can clearly see four or more times, and end up with no dmg and a bullet in my own head.

Also I would like to address the smg changes. All of you who said this update made the game more realistic are clearly not quite "down to earth" because in real life you cannot snipe with an mp40, and in war a camera does not pop up saying where the enemy is....

All i have to say is that you guys who say this update is good, must be wrong because all the numerous problems/glitches that are appearing are not made up. They are real problems caused by nothing but the update. The update has taken a game that was good and focused on gameplay, and turned that game into a fast paced one that is more mainstream. For those of you who like the update you either have other games you like to play as much or more than DOD:S, or you are not very good at DOD:S.

Now, the update was not totally bad. The updated graphics are nice, even though they have caused numerous glitches, crashes, and the achievements are also good. But I dont see any use for the achievements. There are no unlocks or anything.

Good luck to you guys getting used to this "patch". It will take lots and lots of time.

You are saying my words to man! :)

Lol, there are a lot of DOD veterans who love this update. Especially people who played since original DOD. As I said, don't moan if you didn't get involved with the beta. Oh and your sniper shots do actually register, but the aim has changed on sniper so you're actually missing. Most snipers have had to learn how to use the sniper again. Good luck

alright then

i like the update. the mg is way to fast like everyone else says but i think everyone will get used to it, especally those who have playing dod since the begining. one thing i cant figure out is, i have this multi colored grapg scrolling at the bottom right hand portion of my screen, somone was saying somthing about net_graph0? no idea what that means. does anyone know what this graph is or how to turn it off? thanks for the help

ahh the sometimes no reg is killing me.
i know its be said on here a few times.
but yeah
2 hits, saw blood splat then that guy killed me!
ah

a little bit on the laggy side sometimes, but other then that, im fine with it. the rifles are like over kills now though :p

and they need to change the rocket back to before the update, i think its alot weaker now, and others can agree with me XD

Yes, somehow you've enabled the net_graph, on either 2 or 3 setting. Next time you play, type this into your console:

net_graph 0

That should get rid of it.

it sucks. i hate it.... why they nerf the rocket and m1 carbine? and why can i snipe someone with a Thompson across the map now! but i will still play it.. even though it sucks!

EDIT: the freeze cam is also annoying for when ur sniping or mg! WE NEED THAT GONE! Why did they have to make this game like TF2 which aint that great
