Do you like Metallica?

Oh man, Fade to Black. That one's awesome and quite possibly one of their best.

I despise metallica, one second of listening to them will give me a headache, some people may like it but I just dont get it, it disgusts me and I think personally that they are a horrible band. I grew up listening to the great songs of the 60s and 70s. Beatles > Metallica in every way possible... I just feel horrible whenever I listen to a metallica song, makes me want to bash my head into something to dull the pain. Not even joking.

Beatles > Metallica in every way possible

Considering, according to John, Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles and is possibly one of the worst rock drummers of all time - there's one way Metallica is "better".

Lets compare the Beach Boys to Pantera. Or better yet, the Boxtops compared to Slayer!

I agree. 60s were good, 70s rocked, and then the 80s began to sag, although they did have some good stuff such as Van Halen. However, I must mimic MoP in his bashing of the Beach Boys. I hate that group with a passion.

Actually, I wasn't bashing any of those bands. The Beach Boys have some of the best harmonies and Pet Sounds is one of the best albums of all time.

If you like music, you shouldn't stick yourself to one genre or one time period. Enjoy all different forms of music. I was more bashing anyone who insists on comparing one form of music to another and insisting one is 'better'. It's a matter of opinion, it's a matter of taste. If it ain't your cup of tea, good for you. But to say "it sucks, this band is better in every way" is a borderline joke and shows nothing but your ignorance.

That is all.

I'm not trying to start an argument here either. I'm simply trying to point out the futility of saying a band 'sucks'. Unless you're talking about the Spice Girls or some other equally crappy fabricated hit machine, it's pointless.

Great band with some great songs.... But then again I like almost every aspect of music... from the Turtles all the way to My room mate who makes his own music and flows too it..... Just let the music take you away :)

Metallica isn't my style, just never got much into it.... I don't like how people say any band sells out.. who cares how they make their money, as long as you like the music it shouldn't matter past that... Im a big Tool Fan myself, Mudvayne, Crossbreed.... i also love the beatles, coldplay, sublime and softer stuff. Depends on what game im playing, what im drinking, or my mood :D

I have almost every single Metallica song ever made (barring some of the harder to find Metal Massacre I ).

However, I'm more of a Kill 'em All - Black Album Rocker, I enjoy some of the stuff after The Black Album, but I mainly rock exclusivly to the old-school Metallica :)

I Always like the style of Metallica, from the softer songs like Nothing Else Matters or Fade to Black. Than the harder ones like Seek and Destroy or St Anger.

metallica must have been the first band i ever listened to. i was really young and my brother introduced me to them. nothing else matters was the first song i learned on guitar (figures lol). but i agree that their new albums really suck. i was always fascinated by kirk hammot's (sp) solo composition.

anyone hear that their newest album is going to be featured in rock band 2 or guitar hero 4? i forgot which one it is. but yeah supposedly their album will release at the same time, and you can buy every song on the album and play.

Exactly. I have my Tori Amos live DVD next to my Cannibal Corpse 15 Year Killing Spree boxed set. I love music, not genres. I am inspired by sound.

I like classical, hip hop, techno, punk, death metal, country; anything as long as it is genuine.

Metallica has some decent songs, but IMHO most are blehh. But "One" is one of my favorite old rock songs. Right on the list below Warpigs by Black Sabbath and above Creep by Radio Head Is where One by Metallica rests...

It is true, it is only better in my opinion. It is all subject to opinion and I like almost all music except metal. Im sure if metal didn't give me a headache then I would find the music enjoyable. Not all of it is bad and it may have been a bit ignorant for me to say that one band is better in every way, of course that is silly, but the music they produce in my opinion is better.

I like Metallica, except St Anger, essentially. Death Magnetic is shaping up to sound pretty good though. best words Lars has used to describe it? "Nothing like St Anger, that was horrible", well not in such polite words.
