I have just put in a new graphics card into my computer. I works really, but i have come across one problem, and that is that my headset, nor my speakers work. no sound is coming out of either of them. When i try look in my list of sound devices, it shows only one sound device which is a digital output device(HDMI). i just cant seem to figure out what is wrong. can anyone help my get my headset and speakers working again?
Im pretty sure while installing my graphics card i dident touch anything that would do this.

Do you have an actual sound card or is your sound on board? If it's a card, sometimes when you put a new card in, even if you don't touch any other cards, it can cause them to become just unseated enough to not register. I'd pop your case open real quick and push on your sound card, make sure it's seated in, then boot up and see if it gets picked up again.

See -> http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/255639-31-help-video-card-killed-sound (similar problem?)

If DEMODER's suggestion didnt work, you can try the following to fix:
  1. Uninstall the graphics card driver completely (GPU driver removal -> http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/)
  2. Reboot
  3. Ignore the "New Device Detected" wizard
  4. Install your mobo/sound drivers (Reboot and make sure that its working. If not, you may also need to remove the audio components from device manager and reinstall them from scratch)
  5. Reinstall the video card drivers and make sure you select custom/advanced and DO NOT install the audio components

Good luck.
