Hey all, I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a way to play and control music in game. I can of course just play winamp but I'd like to be able to control the music without alt tabbing if possible.

I've heard of HLSS but as far as I know that plays music to other people which is not what I want, also some servers will ban you just for having it running.

Thanks for your time.

I can of course just play winamp
I believe that winamp has a plugin that gives you a status-bar icon, and back-ground-application shortcut keys. in other words you would be able to hit (for example) ctrl-alt-c to pause music, etc., etc.

might want to do a search on the winamp webpage for plugins.

Use Winamp and setup the global hotkeys, then just use those while you're in game.

my keybord has built in buttons for controlling windows media player, volume, next song, previouse song, pause, stop, so on and so on.

Global hotkeys is what I used when I used winamp.

But for me, I do the same thing using iTunes. I just minimize it, and use a program called iTunesKeys to use ALT+~ to go to next track, ALT+1 to pause, CTRL+up/down to change volume, and things like that. Very helpful.

Just search for "Winamp global hotkeys" on Google. That should point you in the right direction!

Ooh hey that's a great question, good post!
Good answers too, I wanna look into that! Very useful :)
