free mmorpgs???

The only decent free mmo's that I can recommend is
-Guild Wars (Have to Buy the Game, but thats it)
-Puzzle Pirates, The game gets old quick, but anyone can start and be on the same level as the masters, I've had a lot of great times in this. If you like Tetris, and other arcade games you'll like this game.
-Runescape, Grind heavy, but its a solid game.

Hrmm, there's a european MMO called S4 League that's half decent, it's like GunZ if you've played that.

If you don't mind grindfests(but hey, that's the definition of MMO), there's also Rohan Blood Feud which is a decent one.

Guild Wars is good... has a few expansion packs that HAVE to make it good. As soon as you get it though with all the expansion packs it is a good game!

Don't play rune scape... i have a record to keep up... and that is to take the power cord of anyone playing that game.

Ive played S4 League. I like it because it loads up fast and is a good time waster. I take it with me on my USB drive and play at school all the time. HOG THEIR BANDWIDTH!

You can always try out Shiaya, only problem is that it is classified as a "Korean Grinder" In other words theres an incredible amount of grinding but the 1-15 pvp is very solid. Also some of the best graphics I have seen in a free game.

Dofus is a free MMO, supposedly has 10 million active players.

AION MMO

Aion is a new MMO scheduled for release this year. Something about good sexy elves vs. evil sexy elves, they all have wings, and ther's probably a grind in there somewhere...

Runes of Magic - pretty much a wow clone but its pretty cool imo
Maplestory - lots of people hate it but i love it for its originality.

If you're looking to just avoid paying a monthly fee, go with Guild Wars. It's a solid game with a huge community. I play it LOTS.

If you're looking to pay nothing at all, you'll probably be disappointed. There are a lot of MMO's that you can download, install, and play completely for free. The catch is that you can only get good gear and character buffs by paying real money. I think it's a terrible business model, which explains why none of them have made it big or gone mainstream.
