XP vs. Vista

I dont really have a problem with Vista...I had my computer for a little over 2 years and its been working fine. I do have troubles with it here and there...but I had minor problems with XP also...I would keep Vista until 7 comes out, I heard Vista users get a free upgrade to it. Good Stuff

l8~

Keep vista
Why go through the effort of reverting back to XP when soon a newer OS will be out?
As long as it runs what you want, why complain?

I'd Switch. Even if you like the style of Vista, You can still get themes for XP that have it look like vista. Switch to XP, Then wait for Windows 7 to come out and get it. It should be a lot better than vista.

if it works for you dont fix it if it dosnt work for you do something about it.

or duel boot or use a vm to test others OS's and versions out

Why would you wanna do that ? I was a vista hater before, until SP1 was released and (almost) all the compatibility issues were worked out. If you're switching back to XP you're soon gonna be 2 OSes behind. I also heard they are going to stop the XP support...

They already stopped it imo for us regular people. If I remember it correctly.

I'm using 64 bit Vista and loving it. I say keep Vista unless it is giving you problems. :P

I have a double boot of XP and Vista. I used XP for 5 years on my old computer and it was nice, but I like Vista better from a users point of view. Everything runs great on both sides, but of course I get 6 gigs of ram on the Vista side and my games smoke.

This thread is not which one you would use because you don't want to change or don't like the interface, it's whether or not GT should put the effort into changing.

Personal opinion is stick with Vista. It's rather solid now, meaning the driver issue is 99.9% gone. Also as to it being a memory hog, yes it does that. It also is coded to release memory that the os is using if another application wants it. So you launch your memory intensive game with 2gb of ram while vista is using 1.5gb. Vista will release however much it can to allow the game to play since the desktop is not being used.
