Idk if any of you guys ever check out the global Hlstats (yes i know stats dont matter etc etc :p) but for those of you that do not browse them occasionally; wear the eGO tag with pride as we currently hold the #1, 2, and 3 DoD:S global player rankings. They reset each "season" and this one is about halfway done I believe! Gj guys and lets see some more peeps up there!

lol, just in case u r not kidding, yes you are on there Taz ... currently ranked 9230, and the 3rd highest person with "Taz" in their name lol. You can search for names or check out who the highest ranked e's eg's and ego's are using there FABULOUS filter feature ;)
 
I also forgot to mention the signature option they have for global stats too! Simply find your unique steam ID (conveniently located next to ur name once you have filtered and found urself in the rankings) and then go to the signature page and paste it in! It'll give you a link that you can just copy and paste into your eGO forums sig and bam now you have 2 rankings! (ofc we all know the eGO one is the only one that matters ... wait I mean that rankings and stats don't matter at all! ... wait ... i mean play for fun! etc etc :p)

really confusing! how do you get the global one? adn what server is that one for?
 
More importantly there is 12 of us in the top 50=Well done folks.
 
Well good work fellas in eGO.

Another note besides eGO clan members there is that a high percentage of those top players also play in eGO servers as pubs. I'm pleasantly surprised that I even make the top 1000, but am at 400. In any case, sorry to burst anyone's bubbles but these stats are skewed. I don't think they really take into account skill very well. I am not saying that I am good. That is definitely far from the truth. What I am saying is that I know some highly ranked players only go into sparsely populated servers to get points and leave once people start showing up. I think this reality skews the stats a little. Just my opinion. You all can definitely share yours if you like.

Type your name into filter and find yourself, like this:

Copy your Unique-Id: STEAM_0:0:22748706 <--- here's yours Vizier.

Go to the global signature page: http://www.hlstatsx.com/global_stats/signature?game=dod&steam_id=

Paste in your ID and click display. Your signature will then pop up!



Copy the signature BB code and paste it into your eGO signature, which can be editted at this page: http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/profile.php?do=editsignature

Whew, that was a lot more steps than I thought :/ heh. And this is NOT for a server Vizier, it's global stats, it tries to rank everyone from every server that has HLstatsX running on it. And just a clarification from before, (and you can look at the global rules more in depth) this ranking is just on standard VAC secured maps, so all those custom sniper maps that we've all been playin on the new sniper server (shout out - that server is now ranked 3 btw :D ) will not show up in global stats. Follow the few short <cough> simple steps and you can add the fun spring 2009 global rank to your signature.

Currently the #12 ranked guy is a dude named 3tea from singapore ... yes he does look quite cool. :p (yes I know u were 12 at the time of the post allster and the guy currently ranked 15 is DEFFO way cool)

lotsa dudes named Blasphemy! ur clearly the best of them though :D

Blasph was ranked 304 at the time of the search for those too lazy to click the link ^^

I agree with a lot in this post, especially how its great to see many of our players and pubs being rewarded with high rankings in global ranks. In response to the skew part, I would definitely not object. I do not have any illusions that I am the 2nd best DoD player in the world (but I am) heh. It deffo is not ranked purely based on skill, a lot of playing time is factored in (more kills more points more objective points) but at the same time HLstats is very far from perfect. I won't get started on the flaws of the stats system because I'm sure there has been numerous posts and arguments about that. The global stats, like nearly all systems, contain flaws and ofc they can be abused.

However, I think that it's fun to see where I rank against other players on other servers and what weapons everyone is using and so on! And at the same time, not all the stats are skewed, they are based on a system and its great to see that MANY eGO players who play hard, go for the win, and dedicate a lot of time to eGO and the eGO servers are being rewarded with high global ranks this season.

I agree, take the ranking with a grain of salt, it's not perfect, but it IS a fun tool and something people might want to browse! Grats on eGO having many of the top players in the world!
