Restricted weapons - Just A Reminder

hey guys i know this has been posted a few times but i wanna take the time to say it again, when wanting a restricted weapon dont harass the person into giving up the weapon or if the team is doing badly dont tell them that they suck with the weapon and to give it up to a more experienced player or even a more general comment of if you suck with your weapon give it up to someone who is good - it takes time to learn weapons strengths and weaknesses and we were all new to the game at one point in time LET THEM LEARN i know its frustrating your loosing and if you or so and so gets the sniper/mg/rocket you could turn the game around and win... again LET THEM LEARN it

ive notice comments have been made by pubs, e's, eg's and ego's that should never have been made and are extremely distasteful because your marking yourself look like a dick and then ontop of it anyone who wears an EGO tag can look like one ontop of it

No round of DoD has ever been won or lost by one player having a specific weapon. It is a team game. Every restricted class can be countered by proper tactics of players of the non-restricted classes. Think about it.

One other thing. Players who are using restricted weapons should switch to a different class after a half an hour or so. These threads of people bragging about their sniper scores where they have tied up the sniper rifle for two hours and more are getting tedious. All your telling us is that you won't share the cool toys.

Pipboy has the right of it. There is no excuse for badgering people for a restricted class. Try something else for a change. Who knows you may enjoy it.

My biggest pet peeve is when someone takes a restricted class and holds it for more than 2 hours and refuses to give it up. Im not going to mention any names but i have seen eGO's that take the sniper class, hold it for more than 2 hours, and when asked to give it up they refuse. That doesnt make us look good and sets a bad example.

I just have to say I suck with all weapons so it doesn't matter what I carry. I will say if I see a MG or Scoped rifle laying on the field I will pick it up. But that being said maps are not won with "camping" classes. It is won with pressing "w" and running towards a flag.

Personally, I wish there was a timer in-game that limited a players access to a restricted weapon. That way you have to share.

I personally have seen e eG and eGO hold the restricted weapons class for hours. I don't understand how they get that class every time and it's usually the same people.
I think though if you want to get really good at a game you have to use all the classes not just one.

for example if i grab the sniper rifle and play around with it for 2 hours and dont give it up tis annoying to others who wanna try it and it should be the decency of that person to give it up when his/her time with it is up but harping them isnt the best way to go about it

I like this thread all the way around. I personally use to suck bad with the rocket, now im not so bad. We all have classes we want. But I know i learned if the rocket aint open, i usually go to support. Oddly enough Ive gotten pretty decent with support after sucking with it for awhile. Either way I think its just good class to keep on cappin flags and not worry about whos using what weapon just have fun. This after all is a game!

Harassment is never welcome in my opinion, whether it be trying to persuade a player into giving up their sniper rifle or generally harassing a player. I think steps could be taken in that instance, for example: An Admin warning the offending player (the harasser) that they should ease off and come back into the server at a later time or wait for the restricted weapon to become available.

I really don't see a problem with players "hogging" a class. Maybe because I don't take gaming seriously to the point of being mad about it. After all, I'm here to have fun, and people camping restricted weapons will not put a dent in my fun.

Simple solution: Try out other classes.

There have been many times where I would simply go assault or support, or even try rifleman if I can't get a restricted class. There's advantages and strategies to ALL classes, restricted or not, and you can have fun with ALL classes.

For instance, no sniper or MG available in Kalt (you originally wanted to snipe/MG at the bridge). Why not go assault or support and take the sewer route?

Record time for holding a sniper belongs to me! I played Strand for 2 full server restarts

(But yea some people keep track of when the server restarts, and if they connect fast enough they have first choice, like me )

yeah my bad whenever i get the k98 scoped i tie it up for an hour or more...:/ but i always ask nicely for people to just tell me either when a sniper spot opens or if they want a spot all they have to do is ask...im actually alright with an assault/mg/rocket/rifle

Well said PiPbOy, what i do personally is if i want for example to use sniper, and there's non open, i just get one from the floor when the player dies!!
