ok, so i want to run a source dedicated server (css) so i can run zombie mod (the kind were you try to survive from computer zombies). ive dowloaded mani's admin plugin and all that. i have it set up for 192.168.0.6:27015 and on internet but when ever i try to have other people join it, they say its not responding. so i dont know what im doing wrong currently, help?

Isn't 192.168.0.6 a generic router IP?
Not for me. It's usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.0

But here is Garden's Thread on how to make a server
http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=52554

But you should play with me I host a zombiemod all the time add me on steam frapkiller.

But to add to Garden you will have to forward your ports correctly , 27015 and 27005 , and then they should be able to connect. Make sure if you are going to add map and material downloads DONT DO IT THROUGH STEAM. Use hldsupdatetool from garden's post and do it that way. If you do it through steam no one will be able to download your custom maps. Also you will have to add mani admin plugin to get zombiemod running if you are going to do it that way, or you can do it through the sourcemod version.

192.168.x.x is a reserved range of IPs for your /internal/ network. That IP will only work for people directly connected to your personal network.

In order for your server to work you need to have done the following:
A) Portforward your router! (You can find instructions at portforward.com for almost any router and any game (including Counter Strike Source))

B) Go to www.whatismyip.com , this site will give you your external IP which is the one you will need to tell your friends.

@Frap: 192.168.x.x and 10.0.x.x are both reserved blocks, its up to the router manufacturer to choose which specific IPs to use. I've seen 192.168.0.1, .1.1, and mine personally uses 10.0.0.2.
