Strand Climbing In Rank A few weeks back, in a Council meeting, there was a discussion about what to do with a certain server that wasn't living up to the standard set by our community. There was talk about discontinuing the server. We also talked about trying a new map. During this meeting Slayr357 and Kamikazi Tommy said, "Give us a month and we'll have that server in the top 10". eGO Trip We went on an old school eGO Trip back to DoD Classic a couple of nights ago. We filled up their old 1.3 Charlie server with eGO tags and had at it. Most of us had to download the old DoD Classic software but it only took 10 minutes and we were ready to get in game. Our hats off to the 475th and Merrill's Marauders for maintaining thier servers in Classic. Great Fragging fellows! Also, we are looking for someone to run eGO Trips. You must be an eGO level member and be availble to run an eGO trip one night a week. You should have TF2 and DoD. If you are interested in a leadership position like this let me know.

We had a short bit of downtime today due to an error with GoDaddy Domain Name Registration services. All of the EdgeGamer accounts were set to auto renew, but they did not due to a system error. Server Ranks Everyone knows we bought 3 new Harpertown boxes this month. That is 12 new IP's and 12 new gaming servers we had to popularize. That not only taxed our tech team comprised of Deacon, Kendle, GardenGrove, Dominion and Mostly Harmless to the breaking point but also scattered our Admins far and wide. The poor tech team had ALOT of work just bringing up new boxes. Not to mention that the Avalanche, Charlie and Flash servers that were having issues for about a week with the SteamId errors from the last steam update. Even with the 12 brand spanking new servers running on new IP's and our admins scattered over the "Harpertown Dozen," we have maintained our global #1 spot with Donner. The Return of Black Mesa When we moved to the Harpertowns for TF2, Black Mesa got lost in the shuffle. It was given a fresh ip and was having difficulty getting traction with all the new maps and servers out there. We lost some good maps and gained some new ones. So, we decided to pull Black Mesa for a short time and build up the IP with another map. Then once that IP got popular, we switched in Black Mesa. Tricky, but highly effective. EdgeGamers Goes To Valve! Thanks to Lafinass, EdgeGamers got invited to Valve's Southern HQ for a Beta Test of Valve's new game Left For Dead! There were two sessions of Beta Testing scheduled, one on Thursday and one on Friday. Lafin, Dominon, Garden and Romantic Death were scheduled for Friday. JohnT was going to Vegas on Friday and opted for the Thursday eGO option. In the saddest story in the history of eGO, the Friday appointment got cancelled by Valve because of a scheduling issue on their end. Lafin's and the full eGO team did not get to go. ROME Are you interested in building an Empire? Then eGO is the place for you! Besides building our own version of Rome we have some friends in Sweden at a Game Company called Paradox Interactive that has built a successful series of empire building games called Europa Universalis.
