This is what I suspected when I googled SoftLayer Technologies Inc. I wasn't able to find anything on this site though naming them as the host so I wasn't sure. Help us eGO admins, you're our only hope!

I found it without my isp, ran a tracert and whois for the ip address where the latency spiked, it's softlayer technologies inc and seems to be a routing issue, problem is, they won't talk to me unless i buy something from them haha will try disabling motd and see if the latency goes down

My ISP told me it seems to be a routing issue and told me to contact softlayer technologies inc and when i did they told me they'll help me just as soon as i buy a server from them lol but the fact that yours got better a week or 2 later sounds promising :D
