Spawn camping and/or exit camping all comes down to common sense and fair gameplay. I apologize if that's confusing, especially when disagreements on what's fair happen between admins. That's just how it is. For instance, we had leadership that strongly believed we should have no rules on it because a good team would just push them back with teamwork. However, I have to agree with NADES because I know firsthand that spawn camping/exit camping whatever you want to call it will make people leave. I don't want to bend to the will of an ass firing RPGs into a spawn and watch as several players who could be as respectable as NADES leave and never come back. In my eyes, a fun environment for all means players AREN'T being a dick to everyone else in the server, whether it be spawn camping, team killing, or verbally abusing other players. And when that punk makes other respectable players leave, that makes me INCREDIBLY angry.

Ok here we go, my take is the game is to cap or defend A"B"C" . Due to the fact that none of the points reside inside of any spawn area then I conclude that there is no reason to fire into any spawn area . As for spawn camping the people who do it only do it because they can't get points by caping and defending points so they either fire into spawn or they sit outside spawn exits and shoot people before their feet even hit the guound . If they are moving past a spawn area to get to a cap point that is a bit different and they better be moving not just sitting outside spawn .
Just my take on it , I spend a good bit of time on DUST trying to make it so every player can have a good enjoyable time on our servers . When pubs can't even get out of spawn and take cover before they get killed by someone who is just trying to get cheap points then they don't have FUN. And after all, I thought that was the point of the game .

I'm looking for ways to reduce spawn camping in Dust2, as it has become a major problem. If you have any ideas on ways to fix spawn camping (by changing or manipulating the map.) please post them here.

I will be happy to look into any ideas that are posted.

I've been spawncamped before and you said they were exit camping. To me, it's the same thing. Karam, 1 way out of the spawn i was spawning in, and marines outside(we were trying to cap C, while marines were in the city. I was pissed, i brought it up, and a few people told me they were doing nothing wrong. That's the point i exited the server, and have yet to rejoin. If people are allowed to exit camp, or spawncamp, or be 1/2 a foot away from the line of doing it, and it's allowed, i can't partake.

and most people feel that way, and so I admin accordingly. If it's ruining the game for others it becomes a server problem. I would hate to lose a regular on our servers because of something so simple to admin.
