what cpu coolers do you know of that would fit in an Antec 300?
price doesnt really matter.

Pretty much any cooler fits, I'm rocking a Prolimatech Megahalem right now and it's among the largest out there.

What are the 300's dimensions?

If you want good cooling look at the Prolimatech Megahalem, TRUE 120, and Thermaltake IFX-14. You also might consider the Corsair H50, although your mileage will very depending on your airflow setup.

I would recommend the H50 as a cheap, but efficient watercooling setup that should be very easy to integrate into most cases...

Yeah but it isn't all that great cooling wise. I would take a lapped TRUE 120 or a Prolimatech Megahalem over the H50 any day.

If noise and size is an issue, than the H50 is a great choice.

something i noticed that helps a lot for cooling is heat paste, between the processor and plate on the fan. just a suggestion

I think the 300, 900 and 1200 are all the same width, so pretty much any cooler will fit in there as genpatton stated. I have a Zalman 9700 in my 1200 and it's a pretty good cooler, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd get a little better cooler. Personally, I'd go with the new Zalman CNPS10 extreme. Sure, Megahalems cool better, but I'd go with the Zalman just to do something a little different.

Im using an OCZ Vendetta 2 and when i got it, it was reviewed as the best Q6600 CPU cooler out there behind a Lapped TRUE 120. It beat a stock TRUE 120 tho. Basically the new design is the Direct Touch Heat-Pipe design and thats what im using. They are taking the market by storm and are offering some of the best cooling out there.

Very cheap for the performance

Honestly unless you are overclocking or using a Penitum 4 most of the newer Intel chips run fine with a stock Intel cooler. If you're using an AMD chip I have no idea how those run temperature wise. Never touched AMD.

uh yea, i have an AMD and its okay, but i want a better one.

do you need one? it seems like you want one so you can try to overclock more, but that doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to.
for instance you overclocked to 3.1ghz or whatever it was, yet your temps are nowhere near dangerous etc. so you try to overclock more and it gets unstable
buying a new cooler will not magically make your cpu more stable at higher speeds unless what is making it unstable is the temp
so if you don't need one don't waste the money.

yea, ive decided to spend my money elseware. like a razer mouse. or something. or maybe save it for MW2.

i think i have read somewhere that that would NOT fit in a 300, only a 1200 (among Antec gaming cases)

I check the reviews in there and people who own the 300 said it would fit. Meh, that's about all those reviews are good for anyhow!

Besides, I saw that you said you were going to invest in something else. I just got my wife the G5 mouse, and she loves it. Likes it much better then her 518.

would i be able to install another 120mm fan on the side? or is cpu cooler or case fan?

you might have trouble putting a fan on the side panel of your case but that depends on where it goes. There is no problem putting another fan on the CPU cooler so u have an intake and exhaust since the way the CPU cooler faces doesn't make the fan obstruct anything really, maybe just make it difficult to plug some connections in. If the side-panel fan is lower than the CPU and where the cooler goes then you should be find, my old mid-tower had that problem though since the opening was exactly where the CPU is and the cooler so i had to take out the side-panel fan. On my new full tower HAF 932 theres no problem because it so much higher, the 230mm fan end up covering everything below the CPU, basically the GPU area with like half of the fan covering half the CPU cooler but theres still more than enough width.
