Lately I've heard so much about this new crafting system that valve are going to release I don't know much about it thats why I'm asking you. what do you thing its about? and how many of the same item do you need to craft into something? well I think 4 of a certain item is enough but from some of the post I've seen you guys have go about 7 of each! :O so could you please answer my question(s).
I look forward to seeing the replies of this topic.

I don't think anybody actually knows anything about this... Pretty much, all I'm doing is collecting whatever pops into my pack now that they gave us a second portion to use... Thanks Valve!

So far this crafting thing is a myth. There are unconfirmed reports of it actually coming out.

^- This.

Well, it hasn't shown up yet

Yeah, Valve promised it, which isn't really saying much, but they did promise to release a trading system sometime in the near future. How long that could take, I'm scared to find out. Frankly, I'd rather they do another class update rather than fixing the item fiasco.

Maybe do something with soldier and demoman before they start this whole item/craft thing.

I don't know how I feel about where they might be taking this game. I cry alittle at night.

I genuinely believe that the game was 100% better at release than it is now. I know for a fact that (for me) it used like 15% less resources and was FAR more stable.

As for a crafting system, I sure hope they don't start adding any MMO elements to the game. I think the weapon level parody is plenty.

Here are my predictions for the near future:

1. Spy will get another pointless and OP bump.
2. Scout will get yet another tweak to make them more annoying.
3. Soldier will get a completely useless unlockable.
4. Rather than getting help vs. spies, Engies will get something to make them more powerful vs. the soldier.
5. Demomen will get a stun, knockback, or slowdown.

Thats ftw~ I would definitly like something done with Soldier and Demo before anymore items/accessories come into play. Would be intresting to see this "crafting system" though..4 minis into 1 major weapon o.0 hmm...

I think crafting would be fine ASLONG as it takes some time to craft/create.

I was expecting something along the lines of 'crafting' etc. Valve mentioned something in a post regarding item drops that it would be 'worthwhile keeping hold of the multiple items'.

I wouldn't be surprised if this sort of thing were to be released, but I imagine the trading system would be implemented before hand, to make sure it works before (if) a crafting system or equivalent were to be implemented

Id say what valve are going to do is create the craft system with the soldier update, HOWEVER they craft system will give you a 25% chance of successfully crafting an item into a hat. And a 50% chance of crafting an item into another item.

This is the answer I've been looking for.

What's the other 25%?
